The Ontario government is investing $250 million to greatly expand access to in vitro fertilization (IVF) through the Ontario Fertility Program.
Laura Smith, Member of Provincial Parliament for Thornhill made an announcement at IVF Canada Markham, “This investment is about more than just funding – it’s about giving families hope. By supporting IVF Canada Markham, our government is helping more Ontarians achieve their dream of starting a family. This funding will expand access to IVF services, reduce wait times, and ensure families can receive the care they need, close to home.”

Initial Consultation and Assessment for Infertility Acupuncture
During the initial consultation, the practitioner will thoroughly assess your health, fertility history, and goals, creating a personalized acupuncture treatment plan.
Regulation Phase
⚪️Goal: Regulate the body, optimize hormone levels, and improve blood circulation in the uterus and ovaries.
⚪️Frequency: Twice weekly after menstruation ends.
Key Intervention Around Embryo Transfer
⚪️Before Transfer: Acupuncture one hour before transfer to reduce uterine contractions and optimize implantation conditions.
⚪️After Transfer: Acupuncture one hour after transfer to stabilize the uterine environment and improve implantation likelihood.
Long-Term Preparation Plan – IVF Acupuncture Protocol
⚪️Goal: Prepare for ovulation induction and egg retrieval cycles, enhancing overall physical readiness.
⚪️Frequency: Twice weekly for three months prior to egg retrieval, with sessions paused during menstruation.

In 1983, a group of gynecologists at Toronto East General Hospital established the LIFE Program, Canada’s first program for the treatment of infertility using in vitro fertilization (IVF). The success of the team led to a marked increase in demand, not only in Ontario, but across Canada and internationally.
