🏀 Join us for the 3rd Annual Abilities Centre Wheelchair Basketball Tournament!

Come cheer on the Durham Eagles as they take on teams from Quinte, Burlington, Brampton, and Niagara in a full day of exciting competition, community, and parasport fun!

✨ Event Schedule
🏀10:00–11:30 AM → Coaches Clinic — open to all new, seasoned, and up-and-coming wheelchair basketball coaches!

🕚 11:00 AM–12:00 PM → Try-It Session — hop in a chair and experience the sport firsthand!

🏀 12:00–4:00 PM → Tournament Play — watch multiple divisions and competition levels face off!

💥 A great day for families, fans, and anyone looking to experience the power and excitement of parasport.

🏀🇨🇦 DOUBLE GOLD for Team Canada! 🇨🇦🏀

Canada’s wheelchair basketball teams made history at the 2025 Youth Parapan Am Games in Chile, taking home GOLD in both the women’s 3×3 and men’s 5×5 tournaments! 🥇🥇

🔥 Ontario pride!
Women’s gold medalists Rosie Long and Mercy Nyakundi helped Canada complete a perfect 7–0 run, dominating the court and defeating Colombia 15–4 in the final. 💪

On the men’s side, Ibrahim Odza led the way with 17 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds, while Nasif Chowdhury added 14 points and 8 boards to fuel Canada’s gold-medal victory. 🙌

Both teams demonstrated incredible teamwork, resilience, and composure —showing the world that the future of Canadian wheelchair basketball is brighter than ever.

👏 Congratulations to all athletes, coaches, and staff — especially our Ontario athletes on this amazing achievement! ❤️

Have a Go at Wheelchair Tennis!

The City of London, in partnership with Ontario Para Network, Tennis Canada, and the Ontario Tennis Association, is excited to launch a brand-new wheelchair tennis program for London residents with a physical disability — starting January 2026!

Join us for a FREE Have a Go session to try it out:

📅 Monday, December 15
🕗 8:15–9:15 p.m.
📍 North London Optimist Community Centre (1345 Cheapside St., London ON, N5V 3N9)

No experience needed — all equipment provided! Recommended for ages 13+. While individuals with a physical disability will be prioritized, friends and family are welcome to join if space allows.

We’re excited to share that a new weekly wheelchair tennis program will launch at the Rideau Sports Centre in the New Year!

To kick things off, join us for a FREE Try It session on Saturday, December 6th from 1:30–3:00 PM at the Rideau Sports Centre (1 Donald St, Ottawa).

✅ No experience needed
✅ All equipment provided
✅ Ages 13+ (younger players can be accommodated — just reach out!)

Priority will be given to individuals with a physical disability, but friends and family are welcome to join if space and equipment allow.

🏀 Join Our Team of Volunteers!

We’re gearing up for an exciting Wheelchair Basketball Tournament on November 22–23 at Elmira District Secondary School, and we need your help!

💥 Volunteer Roles:
✨ Greeters – Welcome athletes, spectators, and guests at check-in

⏱️ Table Officials – Assist with scorekeeping, timekeeping & courtside duties (training provided!).

📸 Photographer/Videographer – Capture the tournament’s best moments for our socials.

💆 Athletic Therapist / Massage Therapy – Support our athletes with on-site care and prevention.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved, support adaptive sport, and experience the excitement of wheelchair basketball up close!

📅 When: Nov 22–23, 8:00 AM–6:30 PM
