๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Shawn Courchesne! ๐ŸŽพ

Join us in celebrating an incredible year for Shawn Courchesne, one of Canadaโ€™s fastest-rising stars in wheelchair tennis!

Shawnโ€™s 2025 season was nothing short of exceptional. He captured back-to-back quad singles titles in Setรบbal, Portugal โ€” marking the first ITF singles championships of his career. He followed that up with a dominant performance at the 2025 Birmingham National Wheelchair Tennis Championships, earning both the quad singles and doubles national titles.

To cap off this remarkable year, Shawn was recognized by Tennis Canada as the 2025 Wheelchair Tennis Most Improved Player of the Year, a well-deserved honour reflecting his dedication, growth, and impact on the sport.

Congratulations, Shawn! Your hard work, passion, and commitment to inclusion continue to inspire athletes across Ontario and Canada.

Weโ€™re proud to celebrate this milestone with you! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŽพ

Canadaโ€™s wheelchair basketball teams made history at the 2025 Youth Parapan Am Games in Chile, taking home GOLD in both the womenโ€™s 3ร—3 and menโ€™s 5ร—5 tournaments! ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅ‡

๐Ÿ”ฅ Ontario pride!
Womenโ€™s gold medalists Rosie Long and Mercy Nyakundi helped Canada complete a perfect 7โ€“0 run, dominating the court and defeating Colombia 15โ€“4 in the final. ๐Ÿ’ช

On the menโ€™s side, Ibrahim Odza led the way with 17 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds, while Nasif Chowdhury added 14 points and 8 boards to fuel Canadaโ€™s gold-medal victory. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Both teams demonstrated incredible teamwork, resilience, and composure โ€”showing the world that the future of Canadian wheelchair basketball is brighter than ever.

๐Ÿ‘ Congratulations to all athletes, coaches, and staff โ€” especially our Ontario athletes on this amazing achievement! โค๏ธ
