The Spinal Joint Classical Osteopathy

The Spinal Joint Classical Osteopathy The Spinal Joint is an osteopathy clinic located in downtown Toronto. Philip Drube, founder, is an O Philip Drube, M.OMSc. He received a Peter F.

Philip Drube naturally gravitated towards osteopathy as he is passionate about helping people achieve balance in their lives. Through manual treatments, osteopathic practitioners encourage and promote self-healing in body, mind and spirit by harmonizing these three facets of our being. Drube enjoyed an unusually long and distinguished career as a dancer, gracing the stage for close to thirty years. He was a company member of Toronto's Dancemakers and Desrosiers Dance Theatre, performing internationally. Bronfman award from the Dancer Transition Resource Center, which facilitated his new career as an osteopathic manual practitioner. Drube perceives a strong relation between dance and osteopathy: “While technique and discipline are essential [to the practice of osteopathy], I see osteopathy as an art form. I used to treat people through my abilities as a performer. Now, I treat people by practicing a healing art that is based on applying principles of mechanics with an in depth anatomical and physiological understanding." It is through this practice of classical osteopathic manual therapy that Drube safely and effectively guides his patients to a state of greater dynamic harmony and vitality in their lives.

Osteopathy can help re-align your body.

This patient’s chief complaint was lower back pain and tightness in the hips. She presented with an elevated left side of the body. You can see her left shoulder and left hip are slightly higher than her right. Her hips are also rotated towards her left, due to her sacrum being imbalanced. Though this misalignment may look subtle, it was more than enough to cause discomfort and interference to the patient’s daily activities and sports.

By manipulating muscular-skeletal structures around the lower back, pelvis and leg, tension was released from the SI ligament and joint. This balanced the sacrum, pelvis and lower back. In other words, the patient achieved improved alignment after just one session! She felt relief from the pain she was experiencing and has increased her range of motion.

Dynamic alignment is one of the many benefits of Osteopathic Treatment. Click here to book an appointment: http://www.thespinaljoint.ca/book-an-appointment 🤗

Not only are women a majority of my patients but they are also a majority of new students and graduates of osteopathic schools. I am grateful to and respect all the strides made towards equality then, now and in the future.

Dr. Still, the founder of Osteopathy, did something unheard of when opening his new school in 1892: he decided to accept women and men equally, which was unimaginable at the time. His actions allowed women to thrive in Osteopathy, and today on International Women’s Day, we celebrate all of the incredible women working in the field.

This year's International Women’s Day theme is , and we all have a part to play in creating a gender equal world. Learn more about International Women's Day:

Each person has their own story and I love getting to know and help each and every one of you.

When a patient comes into an office of an OMP, they're not defined by their symptoms. An OMP doesn't see a bad stomach, a sore neck, a bad hip, etc. They see the full person, and then consider many other factors that could be contributing to pain. This full body approach to health is the reason so many patients finally find relief with Osteopathic treatments.
