✨ It’s the little things that build connection. ✨
A “bid for connection” can be as simple as sharing a story, asking a question, or reaching for someone’s hand. These small gestures are our way of saying: “See me, hear me, connect with me.”
If you’d like support in deepening your connections or navigating relationship challenges, our team is here for you. Book a free 15-minute consultation today.

Sometimes the pressure to “stay positive” can do more harm than good.
Toxic positivity tells us to ignore, suppress, or bypass our real emotions. but healing doesn’t happen through pretending.
Therapy invites you to explore your whole emotional experience, not just the easy parts. You don’t have to force a smile here.

Respect starts with listening and that includes using the pronouns someone shares with you. 💛
Using correct pronouns isn’t just about words; it’s about honouring identity, creating safety, and showing care in everyday interactions. Everyone deserves to feel seen and respected.

Is spontaneous s*x is ideal? New research from .research authors and finds that when people believe planned s*x is satisfying and have planned s*x, they report more s*xual desire and have more s*x than those who don’t, dispelling the myth that spontaneous s*x is always better.

It’s no surprise that s*x therapy and couples therapy often go hand in hand. When partners work on communication, emotional safety, and conflict repair, it creates space for intimacy to grow both inside and outside the bedroom.
✨ What’s one small way you and your partner build connection in your day to day?

Helping and healing in the heart of Greektown - Kat Kova Therapy opens on The Danforth!
Kat Kova Therapy opened in response to the growing need for more inclusive, affordable, trauma-informed help with relational issues, trauma and s*xual concerns in the GTA. I, Kat, am a passionate therapist who devotes my spare time to continuing education and personal development. I am also now working on creating wide-reaching content on topics related to mental, emotional, relational and s*xual health with the hope of helping others to survive, heal, find solutions to their problems and enrich their lives and relationships. My ultimate goal is to help people from all walks of life (who may or may not be able to access therapy due to structural, social, financial, geographical barriers) become empowered to cope and heal on their own.
Taking care of your mental, emotional, relational and s*xual health is no longer considered to be a luxury, it’s an absolute necessity. Our own government is beginning to recognize this and offering more and more coverage for psychological services as a result (check with your insurance provider to see if you are partially or even fully covered for my services). They recognize that at one point or several points in a person’s life, they get stuck and need some help. You do not need to “tough it out” or “go it alone” when this happens. In fact, seeking professional help is the most effective and safest way to traverse the valleys of life so you can get to the peaks sooner and have a different perspective and more skill when you get there. You can relax, leave it to a professional to light the way and follow the path towards greater self-fulfillment, self-mastery and creating a life worth living.
As essential as it is to breathe to survive, so is tending to the gardens of our minds, hearts and souls to create a more livable, tolerable, enjoyable and perhaps even, dare I say it, phenomenal reality! The solution already exists and together we will be better equipped to find it using our own unique skill-sets and a relationship based on trust, openness and non-judgement as resources in our journey. And sometimes, a solution is not really what we need or can expect - we just need someone to witness and hold our story gently as we bravely find the words to describe our most personal, heartbreaking and shameful experiences - you will find this too in the right therapist’s office.
I look forward to honouring your story, helping you reclaim your inner strength, cultivate acceptance, celebrate your identity and improve the quality of your life and relationships (with yourself and others) in my charming office on The Danforth.
