Here’s a simple guide to when you should be getting checked:

👶 Birth – School Age —>Newborns are screened at the hospital, but kids should be tested again before kindergarten and any time speech or learning concerns come up.

🎧 Ages 18–40 Once if no symptoms. More often if you’re regularly around loud noise.

⚠️ Ages 40–60 —>Every 3–5 years. This is when subtle, early hearing loss tends to start showing up.

📅 Ages 60+ —> Every 1–2 years, no exceptions.
Hearing loss is gradual, it doesn’t announce itself. A quick test is the only way to know where you actually stand.
