Happy Veterinary Receptionist Week! It’s been a busy week so we have been quietly celebrating our front desk team. At Yonge Sheppard Animal Hospital, care begins long before you step into an exam room.

It starts with a voice on the phone that takes the time to listen. A familiar greeting when you walk through our doors. A quiet understanding that sometimes, you’re coming to us worried.

Our reception team does so much more than coordinate appointments. They help create a sense of ease, connection, and trust from the very first moment.

Reece’s Rules: Life lessons from a golden retriever
Rule #4: no matter what mom says Ticks = treats and extra snuggles

Reese would like to remind everyone that tick prevention starts in March (or when temps are above zero)

To Reese, this means:
1. Monthly ‘treats’ AKA Simparica Trio, Nexgard spectra or Bravecto from at least MARCH TO NOVEMBER

2. Post walk snuggles AKA tick checks.
A quick check all over to remove ticks before they attach

Pro tip: ticks can be as small as a poppy seed- a lint roller can help pick up some of the tiny hitchhikers. Remember to focus on FACE, FEET, GROIN , and EARS
