Most chronic conditions begin with an event:
An injury.
A virus.
A stressful period.
A hormonal transition.
The body adapts to get through it.
But sometimes that adaptation sticks and becomes the new baseline.
Symptoms improve, but don’t fully resolve.
They return under stress.
They cycle.
That’s when a case shifts from acute to chronic.
Chronic cases mean the body is stuck in a pattern that was once useful (when the triggering event happened) but is no longer serving them.
And patterned systems require structured care.
In treatment, we don’t just aim for short-term symptom reduction.
We work in phases:
1. Reduce intensity of flareups.
2. Stabilize the body pattern.
3. Retrain function so the body stops reaching for old pattern anymore.
That’s how the loop changes.
Chronic doesn’t mean hopeless.
It means the system needs guidance out of repetition.
