I’m not what people have said.
People have said I’m too quiet, I’m too shy, I’m too sensitive and that I need to change myself to find success in this life.
The more I get to know myself and let go of the thoughts that aren’t mine, I’m finding more courage to simply be me. In the process, I’m finding more joy, peace, beauty and freedom along the way🤍.
Learning to reconnect to your body, your inner voice and your dreams is what finding your inner peace is all about✨✌️.

It’s World Kindness Day!🙌
“In a world when we can be anything, be kind.” 🤍
Everything about this quote makes me feel good inside. Be kind to the people around you, to yourself and to the planet.

Practice gratitude daily 🙏❤️ 🧠
Gratitude is a funny thing. In some parts of the world, somebody who gets a clean drink of water, some food, or a worn out pair of shoes can be extremely grateful. Meanwhile, somebody else who has all the necessities they need to live can be found complaining about something. What we have today is [...

Have you heard the news! New study shows that it's ok for your heart to drink up to 25 cups of coffee a day 😵.⠀⠀⠀⠀
Well at least that’s what I heard on the radio first thing this morning, and I thought...oh great, here we go🙃.⠀⠀⠀⠀
Despite this study and just like any other that gets a lot of media attention, we have to look beyond the headline.⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s what I know...coffee affects people differently. Caffeine affects people differently. Dependence on coffee to function is an issue and it means taking a look at other health factors. Understanding how coffee influences your physical, mental and emotional well-being goes well beyond affects on your arteries.⠀⠀⠀⠀
As a coffee lover myself😍, I can understand the deep desire to keep coffee as your everyday bestie. I mean, just the smell of coffee alone😌...I get it! BUT, I also get how there's more to the story than coffee and your heart. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, before you let this study convince you that 25 cups of coffee is safe for you, consider this...⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉Top 5 reasons to cut back on coffee:⠀⠀
1. If you have trouble sleeping⠀⠀
2. If your mood is all over the place or you have anxiety⠀⠀
3. If it gives you the shakes⠀⠀
4. If you can't function without it⠀⠀
5. If you have high blood pressure⠀⠀⠀⠀
If any of the above are a solid YES for you 👉here are 5 simple habits that will help you kick a coffee dependency:⠀⠀
1. Drink water, a good 2L per day⠀⠀
2. Drink green tea⠀⠀
3. Take and take care of your adrenals
4. Rest and sleep more⠀⠀
5. Exercise, move, get outside⠀⠀⠀⠀
Remember, it’s all about knowing what works well for you! xx Sindy

✨ f e a r l e s s ✨⠀⠀
Standing on the glass floor at the CN Tower, looking WAY down at the city below, and not a single ounce of fear. Sometimes a child’s fearlessness is scary, like when they run full speed ahead toward the road 😳. Other times, it’s a really good reminder of how silly our own fears are and how taking more chances can expose us to extraordinary experiences 🤩. ⠀⠀
My hubby calls me Sindy the Safety Bear 🙄 because I’m that gal who believes in following all the traffic rules, public courtesy rules and likes to be cautious of all safety hazards 😬. But, when it comes to standing up for yourself, your well-being, your health and what you believe in...I’m all about breaking the “rules” that keep you stuck in your old ways. ⠀⠀
You might be hesitant to learn new ways, change your norm and take risks. But, imagine the possibilities on the other side, trust in where your heart is leading you and know that you are worth it. ⠀⠀
I always say that it’s okay to have fear, but it’s what we do despite it that can make all the difference✨. ⠀

Let’s talk visualization for a minute🤩.⠀
It's been shown that when we visualize ourselves doing something specific, our bodies can actually respond in a similar way as if we were really doing it.⠀⠀
This is a powerful self-confidence tool too. One of the top attributes that the mamas I work with wish they had more of is CONFIDENCE. Confidence in how they manage their day, confidence in how they handle the unexpected mom stress and confidence in how they look.⠀⠀
Try this simple visualization exercise to boost your confidence every morning before you get out of bed...⠀
1. Before you fully open your eyes, simply and briefly visualize the key moments that will take place today⠀
2. Inhale, slowly and deeply. As you exhale, visualize how you will be in each of these key moments - how you want to feel, as you are, in each of these moments (i.e. calm, confident, energized, smart, beautiful, alive, grounded, capable, focused...etc.)⠀
3. Inhale. Exhale and let it all go. Smile and open your eyes.⠀⠀
Steps 1-3 can happen in as little as 10 seconds or long as a minute. It's pretty amazing how quickly our body responds to what we're thinking and visualizing.⠀⠀
Give this a go for this week! Remember, making self-care a habit is all in the everyday simple acts. Tag a friend who could use a boost in confidence too🙌!⠀⠀
Much love. xx Sindy💛⠀

✨ s u n d a y s ✨⠀⠀
What makes your Sunday complete? For me it's taking my time in the shower, enjoying a warm coffee with breakfast, quality time with family and resting with some down time.⠀⠀
Whatever it is for you, create the space to make it happen, because you deserve to fill your cup too. Making self-care a habit starts with the simple everyday acts of taking care of yourself...one moment at a time💛.⠀

I’m Sindy, the heart and soul behind Calm Mama™. I help overwhelmed moms who are struggling to manage it all feel centred and confident so they can have calm control for whatever comes their way. But, at the heart of it all is empowering mothers like you and me, to embrace self-care so you can thrive with power and grace.
I’ve devoted the past 10 years of my naturopathic medical practice to empowering others to achieve their health and wellness goals. But, it wasn’t until I became a mom just over 5 years ago that I fully understood the extent of the mental and emotional load of motherhood. This is when I decided to focus whole-heartedly on supporting moms on this ride of motherhood.
I’ve had my own personal struggles of trying to do it all and letting my own health get lost in the shuffle. I started feeling less and less like myself and was feeling disconnected from the things that used to energize and light me up. I knew I needed to make a change. This was not how I wanted to feel and it was time I stepped up to the challenge of taking care of myself. You know the old saying, “doctors are the worst patients”. Well, I refused to let that be the excuse that kept me from being at my best.
I made the choice to practice what I teach. Within a few months, I can honestly say I went from feeling like I could barely make it through the day to having a renewed energy and excitement to keep me motivated and inspired in my day. Amazing, right!?
I can’t tell you how often I hear the same story of feeling alone and exhausted in this life of motherhood amongst patients, friends, family and even mothers who I’ve never met before and email me with questions on how they can start feeling less stressed and overwhelmed. So, it’s now my mission to teach you how to escape the exhausting hustle of motherhood and enter a life of calm vitality where you embrace self-care so you can rock motherhood and thrive in whatever you desire in this life.
I’ve lived it, learned from it and now love sharing it so that more moms, like you and me, can live with more ease, joy and grace as we go for what we desire in this life. But, ultimately, it’s about living the way you want to feel. This applies to all areas of life - motherhood, relationships, work, business, social life...etc.
This is the story of how Calm Mama™ came to life and my hope is that it supports you in a way that lifts you up and creates the space you need to live the life you want.
