Over the last 3 days, we brought healthcare directly to the heart of the community at Ogal Beach.

By setting up a field hospital, we were able to meet people where they are; removing barriers for those who often face challenges accessing care. This is what true community-centered healthcare looks like.
From medical consultations to dental services, our team delivered comprehensive care right where it was needed most.

It has been 6 amazingly impactful days that were made possible through partnership!

Day 3 of our outreach in Kisumu County started with training and knowledge sharing. The morning began with a presentation on how to properly use manual blood pressure cuffs and conduct basic ear examinations.

A major component of our outreach is training and capacity building. At each outreach, medical students join us and gain exposure to practical, hands-on learning that helps strengthen and expand their academic training. They also have the opportunity to work alongside experienced healthcare professionals as they assess and treat patients.

We are serious about building local capacity and ensuring that healthcare providers are equipped to continue delivering quality care long after we leave.

This is what true partnership and sustainable healthcare impact looks like.

We ended Day 2 on a high! Through strong collaboration, we were able to provide quality care to 318 patients. Every person who showed up received the attention and support they needed.

Beyond patient care, the day was also filled with teaching, learning, and meaningful knowledge exchange among teams and partners.

We are happy to be back in Kisumu, Kenya, working together to help address healthcare gaps and strengthen care within the system.

Day 1 of our Kisumu Outreach exceeded all expectations.

Despite the rain and it being a Sunday, the community showed up in incredible numbers. We anticipated a smaller turnout, but over 300 people came out to receive care on the very first day.

Through our strong collaboration with the Kisumu County Government, SNAR Foundation for Advancing Community Health, and the Africa Cancer Foundation, we were able to deliver a range of essential services, including:

• Cancer screening and community sensitization
• Treatment of urgent medical cases
• Oral health care and oral health education
• Hands-on clinical training for medical students from Canada and Kenya

It was truly a successful day. The spirit of collaboration among partners, volunteers, and local healthcare providers was strong, and most importantly, the community received the quality care they deserve.

This is what building bridges in global health looks like.

Today is a very proud moment for the Bridge to Health family.

Ronald, our very first BTH Dental Scholarship recipient, has officially graduated from the Medicare Health Professional College, earning his Diploma in Public Health Dentistry.

Ronald has worked alongside our team on BTH outreaches for over a decade. Supporting his dream of formally studying dentistry and then returning that knowledge to serve his people and communities in Ugand. This has been one of our greatest privileges.

This is the true essence of BTH’s sustainability pillar:
ensuring that knowledge, skills, and capacity remain within the communities we serve so that even when we are not present, care continues.

Next February, Ronald will once again work alongside his mentor, Dr. Gary, who generously funded his four-year program. The difference this time?
Ronald will be fully certified.

Congratulations, Ronald. We are incredibly proud of you and excited for the lives you will continue to impact.
