Lydia Charak Psychotherapy

Lydia Charak Psychotherapy Hi I’m Lydia. I’m a Registered psychotherapist specializing in The Clearing Method, Compassionate Inquiry and Expressive Arts Therapy. Really listen.

I have found that people want and need to have a chance to tell their story and have someone listen. Their experiences, perspectives and stories are part of who they are, and sharing is part of their recovery. When working with clients, I incorporate an eclectic and fluid combination of talk, arts-based interventions, and evidence-based therapies to go deeply into the root cause of suffering to soothe and heal from the inside out. I am currently seeing clients on-line internationally and in-person in the east end of Toronto Canada and offer a trauma-informed approach treating individuals who struggle with mental health issues and navigating difficulties in their lives. I also enjoy working with individuals wishing to explore the concept of legacy, to connect with their true essence and authenticity and a desire to be more creative. Informed by the latest therapeutic methods and clinical experience plus a foundation in visual arts, poetry, and the power of dreams, I believe I brings a unique and compassionate approach to therapeutic sessions. Clients who get the most out of therapy with me are those who are willing to meet me halfway. They appreciate my active participation in sessions, my down to earth approach and aren’t bothered by the occasional colourful language that might fall out of my mouth. Sometimes there’s no better way to say what needs to be said. I feel I come to this line of work honestly. I am no stranger to personal trauma, its repercussions and how it profound affected me. This, no doubt, has had a major part to play in a lifetime of curiosity about what makes people tick, how their past relates to their present situations and how they can overcome difficulties in their lives however large or small. My treatment focus lies in the following areas:

• Life transitions
• Loss & Grief
• Trauma
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Legacy
• Creativity
• Essence & Vitality

Anthony Bourdain said: "Eat at a local restaurant tonight. Get the cream sauce. Have a cold pint at 4 o’clock in a mostly empty bar. Go somewhere you’ve never been. Listen to someone you think may have nothing in common with you. Order the steak rare. Eat an oyster. Have a negroni. Have two. Be open to a world where you may not understand or agree with the person next to you, but have a drink with them anyways. Eat slowly. Tip your server. Check in on your friends. Check in on yourself. Enjoy the ride."

Love this.

April 28th is our a time to pay respects to, and remember, the thousands of workers who have been killed or injured as a result of work-related incidents. In Toronto this empty streetcar travels the city to honour those who didn't make the commute home 💔
