Happy Wednesday Everyone! You're having a great Summer so far, we hope?
We have been busy trying to complete this big study and it's been a great journey. We need only 2 more male participants over the age of 60 to finalize the clinical visits, but we need all the help we can get to find these last two volunteers. If you or someone you know are interested and would like to fins out more, please contact us.
In the meantime, enjoy the weather! :)

DLS is short of only a handful of participants with no previous diagnosis of any form of DM, in order to meet our goal of 300 participants in the second phase. Males over the age of 60 are encouraged to come in for probably one of the most thorough clinical check-ups they may undergo. Bone density scan, renal and neurological testing, coronary artery calcification scoring, along with extensive blood work and urinalysis are some of the observational tests to be conducted. Compensation incl.

Contact us to find out if you or someone you know is eligible and how you can be part of this study.

The Diabetes Longevity Study will be presenting 3 topics (confocal corneal microscopy, comparison of DM management aspects in US and Canadian cohorts, and renal function in older adults with longstanding T1DM) at the upcoming ADA conference in New Orleans. Stay tuned for more info.

Happy Wednesday! Currently, the Longevity team is compiling all gathered study results and data in preparation for evaluating them.
At the same time, we are still looking for non-diabetic males, 60 years and older. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact us.

Happy quasi-Spring everybody! We hope you are all keeping well.
The second phase of our study is coming to a close and we are very excited to be looking through all the data and results collected and work on the findings soon.
However, we are still short of about 10 male, non-diabetic controls over the age of 65. If you or someone you know might be interested, please email or call us.

Happy almost Spring, Everyone! Phase II of DLS is in full swing and we are making good progress. Thank you for the great response to our recruitment. We are thrilled. Please keep spreading the word on DLS to eligible candidates with 50+ years of T1DM, who might be interested in participating and coming to our clinic for extensive testing. Note: we're also in need of volunteers in their 50's and up who do not have diabetes, to undergo the same tests. It's a great opportunity to get a thorough check up. :)
