Owner, Simona DeMarchi, has been working in the field of paediatrics since graduating as a physiotherapist from the University of Toronto in 1997. Simona has dedicated the past 18+ years to developing her skills in Cuevas MEDEK Exercises, or CME (previously MEDEK). Simona completed her Introductory MEDEK course (CME I) in 1997, Intermediate MEDEK course (CME II) in 1999, and CME III (Advanced Course) in 2003. For a number of years after completing her CME III certification, Simona had the honour of assisting Ramon Cuevas, physiotherapist and creator of CME, when he taught CME courses to physiotherapy and occupational therapy colleagues in Toronto. Then, in 2009, after numerous hours spent observing Ramon, assisting him with the courses locally, and other preparations required to complete this level of certification, Simona received the distinction of becoming the very first practitioner to achieve CME IV certification. Since becoming CME IV certified, Simona has had the pleasure of teaching several CME courses. The certificates of course completion for each course Simona teaches come directly from the CME International Centre, located in Santiago Chile, and are signed by Ramon as CME creator. This is a sign of their close collaboration, something that Simona intends to maintain in the years to come. Simona is truly passionate about caring for children, guiding them and their families along their journey to the highest level of motor independence that is achievable. It is because of this passion that Simona has never wavered from her dedication to CME. Simona is forever grateful to Ramon for believing in her as a student and since supporting her as she has grown into the CME practitioner that she is today. Services offered at Simona DeMarchi Paediatric Therapy include CME assessment and direct treatment. Sessions can be delivered on a week to week basis, or in an intensive block format. Intensive blocks are typically delivered to families who are traveling from afar, but may also be appropriate for a child who is working on an emergent skill. Physiotherapists and occupational therapists who are interested in pursuing CME certification are invited to contact Simona to discuss upcoming opportunities for CME courses. In addition, Simona is currently the only practitioner who is authorized by the CME International Centre to sell the sets of CME boxes in Canada.
