Dearest Biss Family,

Here’s the thing. We all know someone who lives with mental health challenges. And I’m willing to bet you’ve been touched deeply in one way or another by their story. In fact, maybe their story is your story.

And although there can be much pain and suffering in these stories, there can also be so much resilience and hope as well ✨

We have a lot to learn from one another. Our stories are powerful threads that weave us together, in strength and understanding.

As my friends, it would mean the world to me, to host you at one of these upcoming events, where we talk about hard things and make them easier to understand, through laughter and compassion.

This a volunteer, passion project, that is receiving a lot of my love right now. And I’d love to share it with you 💕

Dearest Angie,

I am so honoured to have attended your Celebration of Life. It’s been a month now, since that memorable day.

What a beautiful day it was ☀️

The sun was shining bright. The birds were singing sweetly. The warm breeze blew gently through the tall, strong oak trees above us.

I attended, with two of your other friends from Belleville. We know you as a loyal and kind confidant, a fun and creative soul, and a skilled and confident therapist.

You are a light to us all ✨

This theme was repeated over and over as each person stood to celebrate you. As they told their stories, it was clear how much they love you, and how deeply you love them.

Again, and again, your loved ones described your passion and fire, your laughter and joy, your vulnerability and sweetness. They talked of how you inspire them, guide them, protect them, and love them - and will continue to do so, wherever you are now.

A song was played that tugged at all of our heart strings. I could see clearly why it had been chosen for you. It mostly spoke to how much light you share, and how freely you give love.

I've sat with my own interpretation of what I have both learned, and continue to learn from you, my dear friend. And I too feel as though a song, set to images (for the artist in all of us), is the most powerful way to share what you teach me.

Thank you for the gentle reminder, over and over, to return to innocence ✨

First rule of Bliss Retreats- There are no rules!

Well, we do have some rules... but the number one thing we'd love for you to keep in mind is to honor your body.

Yes, we offer beautiful workshops at Bliss Retreats, but as far as we're concerned, this is a "choose your own adventure" weekend.

Listening to your body and honoring its signals is one of the truest forms of self-love.

Attend all the workshops, take a nap, journal, lay in the sun, go for a walk, knit a blanket... do whatever feels right for you. Love yourself.

Speak your truth, even if your voice shakes.

Co-Founder Sarah wasn't always so comfortable sharing her story, but through the years, Bliss has given her the confidence to speak up, to speak out, to share herself.

Bliss retreats offer safe space. No matter what stories tumble out of your mouth, they are the ones that need to be heard, the truths that need to be spoken. We got you.
