Why Varicose Veins Happen — And the Canadian Solution Helping Thousands

Most Canadians think varicose veins are just "bulging blue lines," but the issue starts much deeper.

When the tiny valves inside your leg veins weaken, they struggle to push blood back toward your heart. Blood pools, pressure builds—and that’s when visible veins, swelling, and that persistent "heavy leg" feeling appear.

Common Triggers in Our Daily Lives:

Prolonged standing (especially at work)

Excessive sitting or sedentary lifestyle

Pregnancy

Genetics & age-related circulation decline

✨ Recently, thousands of Canadians have turned to the GFOUK® VeinTarget Microneedle Patch. This is a Health Canada-approved solution, proudly Canadian, designed to support microcirculation directly at the source through advanced, gentle microneedle absorption.

If you’ve been struggling with heavy, sore, or aching legs, modern and non-invasive relief is finally here.

A lot of people come into my clinic and say,
“Doctor, I’ve suddenly noticed a hard, painful lump on my lower leg — could this be a blood clot?”

In many cases, what they’re actually dealing with is superficial phlebitis, which is inflammation of a vein close to the surface of the skin.

Essentially, a surface vein becomes irritated, swollen, and painful due to inflammation. While it isn’t as serious as a deep vein thrombosis (DVT), it can still be uncomfortable and disruptive to everyday life. Common symptoms include:

Redness, warmth, and tenderness

Localised swelling

Pain that makes walking uncomfortable

A vein that feels hard and appears like a raised cord beneath the skin

A sensible approach to managing this usually includes:

Applying a cold compress

Elevating the leg

Supporting healthy circulation

Avoiding prolonged periods of standing

Keeping gently active with light walking

Many people also choose to use a soothing spray to help reduce the burning and stinging sensations. Some of my patients have found GFOUK® VascuCare Spray helpful for home use, as it absorbs quickly, is easy to apply, and can help ease discomfort and pain.

Looking after your veins is important — and with the right care, you can help keep your legs feeling strong, comfortable, and supported.
