Formulas fall apart for a lot of reasons; wrong emulsifier ratio, pH, ingredient interactions…but one thing that never changes is this: without a proper preservation system, even a perfect-looking formula won’t stay good for long.

Any product with water, hydrosols, or plant extracts becomes the ideal environment for microbes. They can change the texture, break your emulsion, shift the scent, and make the product unsafe. A strong preservation system protects your formula, keeps it stable, and makes sure it doesn’t separate, spoil, or grow things you can’t see 👀

When we began working on our hairstick well over a year ago, we wanted to challenge what a styling product could be. Every choice was deliberate from the blend of oils and waxes to how it glides, how it feels and how it washes away without buildup.
