With marketing hypes and diet gurus, we’re often led to believe that the more complicated and “fancy” our nutrition is, the better. But, I’m here to tell you…they’re lying to you. 🙄

Keeping it simple with nutrition is the best way to make sure you consistently eat well and give your body the nutrients it needs.

And my trick for doing exactly that is to come up with a “food formula” that works for you and with your life.

Your food formula should include meals that:

✅ You actually enjoy
✅ Have simple steps and are easy to throw together
✅ Align with your health and wellness goals
And simply rotate meals that follow that formula throughout the week!

You don’t have to reinvent gourmet meals every time you sit down to eat … or constantly come up with new ideas every day 👍.

Refire Reminder 🔥
You might be making way more progress than you think.

One of the biggest mistakes I see? People think progress is only happening if the scale cooperates.

And if it doesn’t move?
Suddenly nothing is working.
Suddenly you feel like the problem.
Suddenly the entire day is ruined over a number that can swing because you had soup.

Here’s the thing no one taught us growing up:
Progress is sneaky. Quiet. Un-flashy.
It shows up in the tiny places you don’t give yourself credit for.

It’s in your energy not crashing at 2pm.
It’s in how your clothes fit not digging into you by noon.
It’s in your sleep not tossing and turning.
It’s in your strength...not getting winded walking up the stairs.
It’s in your mood...not snapping the second someone breathes wrong.
It’s in your relationship with food by not feeling guilty for eating like a human.

And none of those require a scale to confirm.

You just have to look beyond the one tool that was never meant to measure your whole life in the first place!

Keep going.
You’re building something real. 🔥

Some people work out for abs. Some people work out for aesthetics. And honestly? Good for them.
But that’s never been my “why.” (at least not a why that stood the test of time!)

I show up for my health because when I don’t…I feel it in every corner of my life.

When I skip taking care of myself, it’s not my jeans that feel tight, it’s my mind.
My patience gets shorter.
My stress climbs higher.
My sleep gets messy.
My moods swing harder.
And suddenly the little things that usually roll off my back feel like they’re sitting on my chest.

Movement is the thing that brings me back to myself.
It clears out the noise.
It softens the anxious edges.
It helps me breathe deeper, think clearer, and show up as the human I want to be for my kid, my partner, my work, and honestly…myself.

I don’t chase perfection. I don’t chase a certain “look.”
I chase feeling steady. Strong. Clear.
I chase mental health that doesn’t collapse the second life gets heavy.
I chase the version of me who handles chaos without falling apart.

And every time I move, even if it’s messy, short, or interrupted 12 times, it reminds me that I matter too.

Health isn’t about looking a certain way.
It’s about living a certain way.

And taking care of myself?
That’s the foundation of everything else I care about!

There was a time in my life when I avoided workouts like they were a bill I didn’t want to open. Not because I didn’t care… but because every time I tried to “start over,” I felt embarrassed.

I’d think things like:
“Why can’t I just stay consistent?”
“Why is this so easy for other people?”
“Why do I always fall off when life gets busy?”
And my personal favourite:
“I’ll start Monday… you know, a better Monday.”

Meanwhile, I was juggling a whole life...working, parenting, being a partner, running a house, doing emotional labour for half the planet, and trying not to completely fall apart.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, I realized something huge:

It wasn’t ME who failed.
It was the systems we’re told to follow.

The all-or-nothing workouts.
The “no excuses” mentality.
The guilt.
The perfection.
The shiny programs that don’t match real-life chaos.

So I built Flame based on what actually works in my real, imperfect, beautifully messy life:

Short workouts that get results.
Support that feels human.
Flexibility.
Humor.
A place where starting over isn’t a shameful thing it’s a strength because it's in trying again that growth happens.

Flame exists because I needed something that worked for me first.
If you’re trying to balance a whole world and still carve out time to feel strong again… Flame was built for you too!

A huge pet peeve of mine is having to throw out food! Growing up, we struggled financially so food scarcity is a mindset I often get stuck in.

So, in an effort to reduce food waste in my home, I have some food storage tips that help me keep food fresh and saves us money.

One tip that I find truly works, is storing fresh produce in glass containers. Doesn't matter what container, just make sure it's glass!

I wash my produce and then chop it up if needed, then store in my glass jars.
It makes my fridge look pretty and it makes it easy to see what we have available! Plus, it puts the fresh food in your face instead of tucked away in a forgotten drawer to rot away!

Do you use this method or will you give it a try?!

Too often, when people talk about health, it’s all:
💪 Workouts
🥗 Nutrition

…and everything else gets forgotten.
What I’ve learned in over a decade of training is that the top of the pyramid can’t hold if the bottom isn’t strong.

So I coach through Refire Whole Health Bricks:
1️⃣ Mindset – How you see yourself, your choices, your life.
2️⃣ Self-Talk – The voice in your head matters. Encouraging it builds resilience.
3️⃣ Daily Movement – Not just workouts, but all the little ways you keep your body moving.
4️⃣ Nutrition – Real fuel for your body, not extreme diets.
5️⃣ Physical Fitness – Strength, mobility, and conditioning.

The bottom three are where most people struggle… and where the biggest wins come from. If you only focus on exercise and food, you miss:

Consistency
Motivation
Mental resilience
The joy of movement

Think about it...a strong body without a strong mindset and habits won’t stick. But when the bricks are all aligned? You build strength that lasts, not just for a season, but for life!

The lesson: Build from the bottom up.
Mindset → Self-Talk → Daily Movement → Nutrition → Physical Fitness.
Focus on all the bricks, and watch everything else fall into place. 💪

Ready to try it for yourself? Let me know, I build FLAME just for you!

Ahhh… adult humans. Most of us are creatures of habit and comfort, aren’t we?

Why do we cling to our comfort zones? Because it’s safe. No risk. No chance of failing or looking silly.

But here’s the thing: staying comfortable means missing out on so much of living. Stretching yourself builds confidence, resilience, and can even reveal hidden talents you didn’t know you had.

Yes, trying new things can be awkward, embarrassing, or even fail spectacularly. I promise, the awkward passes. And failure? Once you let go of the ego, it’s not life-ending... it’s growth.

Here’s a few things I’ve failed at as an adult:

Job interviews I really wanted
The pistol fi****ms test for Corrections Canada
Skiing… nope, really not my thing 😆
CrossFit… epically, twice
Quitting smoking… three times

And if I’d let those failures keep me in my comfort zone, I would have never tried — or succeeded at:

Quitting smoking ✅
Strength training with weights 💪
Getting my personal training certification
Starting my business 💼
Learning to ride a motorcycle 🏍️
Becoming a certified Kickboxing Instructor 🔥

So, if you’ve been sitting on the sidelines, coffee in hand, feeling that spark to try something new…

Here’s my advice: Start NOW.
Start with fear.
Start with uncertainty.
Start with shaking hands and a racing heart.

Start where you are, with what you have. ❤️

11/10/2025

It’s Monday. Again.
You’re staring at your coffee, your laptop, maybe the pile of laundry that somehow multiplied overnight, and you think:

“Okay… maybe this week I’ll actually do it. Eat better. Move more. Stop feeling like I’m failing all the time.”

And then reality hits: work emails, kids, errands, dinner, bills. Suddenly, it’s Tuesday, and you’re already thinking, “I’ll try again next Monday.”

You want to work out, but you don’t have fancy equipment.
You want to eat better, but you can’t even figure out what to have for breakfast without overthinking it.
You want to be consistent, but life keeps interrupting, and you end up feeling like you don’t have what it takes.

Here’s the thing: it’s not that you don’t have what it takes.
It’s that the plans you’ve tried expect someone else’s life. Someone who has hours to prep meals, an empty house for workouts, a perfect routine.

That’s not real life. And that’s why I built FLAME.

It’s not a bootcamp.
It’s not another “challenge.”
It’s a plan for the person who’s busy, stressed, and just wants to feel better in their body.

5 simple, home-friendly workouts a week.
3 habits that actually stick.
6 recipes that don’t take over your life.
A plan that meets you where you are... not where someone says you should be.

This Monday doesn’t have to feel like failure.
It can feel like the start of finally having a plan that works for you.

🔥 FLAME is your bridge. Start today. Start where you are.

Didn't want to cook. Didn't want to think.
So this is the result!
for the win. 😎
in my game - it's still fresh, colourful and enjoyable.

When it comes to eating well:
*Think of real food and colour.
*Veggies first! Then build around them
*And for the love of all things yummy, keep it simple!

is still here!
There are still too many of you who think a sad pile of lettuce with a few cherry tomatoes is the way to eat. But that’s not food that fuels you, that’s food that bores you. And when your food is boring, your brain notices, your energy dips, and honestly… life feels a little less fun. That’s why I'll always talk about !

Save this image somewhere you'll see it! Building better salads means you'll get more fibre, vitamins, and protein that keep your digestion running smoothly, your body nourished, and your energy steadier throughout the day. Make it tasty since flavour keeps you coming back, keeps eating enjoyable, and makes the whole thing sustainable.

When you build your salad this way, you’re creating a meal that supports your energy, your mental clarity, and your mood. You’re showing up for yourself in a small but meaningful way every day. That’s the whole point. Life is more fun when your food actually fuels you instead of weighing you down. You deserve to eat meals that make you feel alive, not just full.

So here’s my challenge: stop eating sad lettuce. Build a salad that makes you feel good in every way: energy, mood, and taste. And then watch how much better the rest of your day feels. Because honestly, when your salad isn’t sad, life is brighter! 💪🥗
