If I could plant one mindset into everyone it would be: You don’t need to feel capable to start. 😮

I think that’s where a lot of people get stuck...waiting until they feel more ready, more confident, more “in shape.”

But that feeling usually comes after you start, not before. Yet we often forget that. We want that part first and so we wait, and wait and wait.

Fitness doesn’t have to mean jumping into something intense or overwhelming. It can just be… doing a little more than you did yesterday. A short walk by the water. A simple workout. Drinking more water.

Nothing extreme because you’re not trying to prove anything. You’re just building a bit of trust with yourself! That you can try before being perfect. That you can start small. That capability comes with practice!

Start where you are ❤️🔥

This is pretty much how I eat most days. I focus on flavours I like and I try to keep it simple: add some protein, throw in something fresh or colourful, and move on with my day.

Because I don’t want food to feel like a full-time job. I just want to feel good and have energy.

What’s worked better for me than any prescribed meal plan is keeping a few basic things in mind:

- Make sure you’re actually eating meals (not just picking all day)
- Add protein to keep you full
- Include something fresh when you can (fruit, veggies)
- And don’t overcomplicate it

That’s it.

Some days are more put together than others, but it’s consistent enough to support everything else I’m doing.

If you’re feeling stuck with food, try simplifying it instead of adding more rules. Start with one meal and just build from there!

This didn’t feel like a workout and that’s kind of the point! I wasn't chasing a speed, distance or intensity...just chasing some waterfront views ☮️✌️.

I think a lot of us try to force ourselves into routines we don’t actually enjoy, and then wonder why it’s so hard to stay consistent.

Lately I’ve been leaning more into this and it is what I want Refire to mean to others. Getting outside, going for a ride, being near the water… just moving in a way that feels good instead of something I have to check off.

You don’t need everything to be structured or intense all the time. Sometimes it just needs to be something you’ll actually want to do again!

How about chasing experiences and memories that naturally include movement? Instead of chasing a size or calories...

What a more interesting way to approach fitness 😍

One thing that’s helped me stay more consistent is this that I stopped relying on motivation. Instead I just make things easier to start!

I plan for the real me, lol! 🤣
Tired, unmotivated and craving my couch more than my treadmill. I’ll set things up ahead of time, keep it simple, lower the effort it takes to begin. Because most of the time, it’s not that I can’t do it, it’s that I don’t feel like getting started.

So instead of trying to force myself to be motivated, I just remove as many barriers as I can.

I put out my workout clothes the night before....fill my water...plan my workout. It sounds small, but it makes a big difference on the days where I’m tired or not feeling it.

If you’ve been struggling to stay consistent, don’t try to push harder...try making it easier to show up. Plan for the real you! 🔥

After the weekend, I keep thinking about this…not every day is going to look like a workout. And I'm okay with that!

Some days are heavier. Some days you’re just trying to get through things or take care of what matters.

But that doesn’t mean you’ve “fallen off.” Movement doesn’t always have to be structured or intense to count.
Sometimes it’s a walk, time outside, or just not staying stuck in one place all day.

That’s something I’ve been leaning into more lately...letting things count instead of feeling like I need to start over.

If things feel off or heavier than usual, don’t worry about doing everything.Just ask yourself: What's one small way I can move today?

That’s enough.

04/26/2026

This wasn't a workout. This was real life.

We’ve been traveling to spread my mom’s ashes, and it’s been a mix of heavy, meaningful, and quiet moments. But we’ve also been outside a lot. Walking, hiking, just moving through it all.

And it made me realize again… this is the kind of “fitness” that actually matters to me. Not just structured workouts, but having a body that can carry you through real life.

The hard days, the meaningful ones, the ones you’ll remember. Moving your body while you’re processing, grieving, being present…that’s a different kind of strength.

And what I want to promote with Refire Life!
Movement for the body and soul ❤️

I think a lot of us plan our health and fitness around the ideal version of ourselves. We get excited and plan to do it all...the plan works great for the version of you that has energy, that's motivated...

Buuuuut, that’s not the version of you that shows up every day! Real life is tired you. Stressed you. Busy you.
The “I don’t really feel like it today” version of you.

I know that because I have all those same versions 🤣. Welcome to being human!

And when everything you’ve planned only works for your best days… it’s really hard to stay consistent.

What’s helped me is building smaller habits that actually hold up on those days. Things I can still do when I’m not at 100%.

Drink some water.
Go for a quick walk.
Eat something a bit better than nothing.

It’s not perfect, but it keeps things moving instead of falling off completely.

If you’re struggling to stay consistent, it might not be you… it might just be that your plan only works for your best days. What if you planned for hot mess you????

Give that a shot and let me know!

Whenever I feel off, I don’t try to reset everything.

I used to do that…new plan, fresh start...“okay THIS is the week” energy. 🤣

Annnnd it never really stuck!

Now I just come back to a few basics:

- eat an actual meal
- drink some water
- move a little
- get outside if I can

That’s it!

It’s not dramatic, but it usually fixes more than I expect.

I think a lot of the time we don’t need a full restart…
we just need to go back to the things we stopped doing. Back to basics and keeping it simple...not flashy or exciting, but tried and true!

Something that’s helped me a lot and I use it for pretty much everything: I try not to miss twice.

If I skip a workout? Whatever. It happens. But I try not to let it turn into two in a row.

Same with water, food, all of it. If a day’s a bit off, I just… get back to it the next day. Because I’ve noticed it’s never really the one off day that throws me off.

It’s when it turns into a few in a row and suddenly everything feels harder than it needs to. This just keeps things from spiralling without feeling strict or all-or-nothing.

And yeah, at times life happens, vacation, busy weeks, all of that. But this is something I come back to when I start feeling a bit off track. The "never miss twice" motto is what really helps me stay consistent!

Will you give it a try?

This is exactly why I started shifting into Refire Life. Not for bigger workouts or stricter routines, but for moments like this.

A simple hike. Fresh air. The dog running around. Just moving your body without it feeling like it's another chore.

I think a lot of us want this more than we admit.
To feel good in our bodies.
To have the energy to say yes to things.
To not overthink every workout or every meal and just go live a little.

That’s what I want fitness to support. Where movement and life kind of blend together!

This is the stuff that actually matters. 🔥❤️

Some days it’s not even about getting stronger.
It’s just about having 30–60 minutes, where no one needs anything from me.

And that alone is enough to keep me coming back!

Do it for you!

04/13/2026

Doing something new (or… again after years) is humbling.

It’s awkward. It’s uncomfortable.

Getting back on a bicycle made me feel a little out of my depth.

But this is the stuff that’s good for us! Not just physically, but mentally.

It reminds you what it feels like to be a beginner. To not be good at something. To try anyway.

I’m getting ready for trail rides this season, and this is where it starts...not ready, not pretty, not strong, just… willing.

You just have to be willing to challenge yourself, even just a little!
