Feeling deeply grateful for the beautiful group who joined me at Paths of Courage on Tuesday night. Together, we explored grounding, safety, and self-compassion through the creation of personal grounding containers.

The honesty, creativity, and presence shared in the space were truly moving. Thank you for showing up, for trusting the process, and for taking this time to care for yourselves.

It’s always an honour to hold space with you ā¤ļø

Hi folks,

Please join us for our annual commemoration of the women who died by femicide during the Ɖcole Polytechnique Massacre.

This year marks 36 years since the mass shooting. In coming together to mourn for the 14 women who died, we take action and stand against violence.

Our event will take place at the CORE Belleville, at 223 Pinnacle St.

The event will take place from 11am-1pm. No registration necessary.

We will have an opening speech followed by a rose ceremony. Light refreshments will be provided, and there will be support staff from in attendance.

This event is brought to you by the Dec. 6th Committee, comprised of individuals from Sexual Assault Centre for Quinte and District, Quinte Health, Community Advocacy & Legal Centre, Victim Services HPELA, The Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, Three Oaks Foundation, Red Cedars, and Quinte Coordinating Committee Against Violence.

Last night’s Mother Wound Healing: Shifting Intergenerational Cycles workshop was an absolute privilege to hold šŸ’—

Even though we didn’t make it to the journaling portion, the openness, curiosity, and connection that unfolded in the room were incredibly meaningful. The women who attended brought such courage, honesty, and depth to the space. Witnessing their stories, creativity, and shared reflections was truly humbling.

I’m grateful for the collective care they fostered and am thankful to for hosting their space across the hall. There is so much power in showing up for ourselves and for one another.

Thank you to each of you for your bravery and your presence 🪽

Attached is my inner child collage piece.

(Thursday, November 13 from 7 - 9pm)

Mother Wound Healing: Shifting Intergenerational Cycles offers a supportive space to explore with gentle learning, guided journaling, art-making, and a nurturing sharing circle. No art or writing experience needed!

🌈 Colouring Club
(Sunday, November 16 from 1 - 3pm)

Take a couple of hours just for you - to slow down, sip something warm, and fill the afternoon with colour, conversation, and connection.

Our Sunday Afternoon Colouring Club is a relaxed monthly meetup where women come together to unwind, chat, and express themselves through colouring. No artistic skill required, just bring your favourite pencils, markers, or crayons, and an open heart.

Whether you come to recharge quietly or share stories over shades of blue and gold, this is your space to breathe, laugh, and reconnect with yourself and others.

What to bring: Your colouring supplies (we’ll have extra pages and pencils, too!)

Come as you are, leave a little lighter, and maybe with a new friend or two. šŸ’›

Grateful to have attended the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA) Annual Conference this year for the very first time in-person since launching my private practice. What a privilege and a powerful reminder of how important connection, community, and ongoing learning are in our work!

Being surrounded by dedicated clinicians, researchers, and fellow practitioners in the room (and hearing about the latest in evidence-based practices) has filled me with inspiration and renewed energy for my practice and the clients I serve. Thank you also to the vendors, like and .ccmh.li for the chats!

A huge thank you to the OPA for putting on such an enriching 3-day event, and to all the presenters and attendees who generously shared their wisdom. I’m excited to bring this learning into the support I offer and to deepen my commitment to being a mindful, compassionate, trauma‐informed practitioner.

Very much inspired by Sarah Rincon () and , I decided to take the leap and provide an outline of my private practice stats since opening my practice in May. Pay transparency is not often talked about, especially in Canada, but I hope this can serve as a helpful tool whether you are just starting out or well into your practice!

Let me know if there are more details you would be interested in (feel free to DM!). This will be a monthly series, stay tuned āœØļø

Proud to share that I’ve officially completed my Trauma Counselling and Support Certificate through CTRI. This learning has already strengthened my trauma-informed practice and deepened the support I offer my clients.

This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the Starter Company Plus grant program through the Small Business Centre. Their support has allowed me to continue investing in my development and my private practice, including attending the OAMHP Symposium (and am now a OAMHP member), joining the upcoming OPA 78th Annual Conference next week, and enrolling in IFS Institute’s Healing Interventions for the Trauma-Addictions Cycle webinar series, among other trainings and networking opportunities.

I’m so thankful for the continued learning, community, and growth, and I’m excited to bring these tools forward in service of those on their healing journeys.

Here’s to expanding knowledge, building safer spaces, and walking alongside survivors with compassion and care.

RESCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2!

Feels Like Home: Blackout Poetry Night āœØšŸ–¤

On Sunday, November 2 from 6 - 8pm, join me for an evening of quiet creativity and connection as we dive into the practice of blackout poetry, finding hidden stories within printed pages. Together, we’ll use markers, books, and our intuition to reveal poems that speak to our hopes, memories, and the parts of ourselves we’re ready to honour or release.

No experience with poetry or art is needed, just bring your curiousity and a willingness to see what unfolds. All materials will be provided, and you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind piece of writing that carries your own voice.

Spaces are limited, so RSVP soon to save your spot (email at erika@care-connect.ca). Let’s gather, create, and discover what words are waiting for you.

Thanks so much to for providing non-alcoholic refreshments āœØļø

I'm beyond grateful to share that I’ve been accepted into the IFS Institute’s Level 1 training, commencing in Spring 2026! āœØļøšŸŽ‰

This program is deeply sought after and difficult to get into, so this acceptance feels both humbling and affirming. Me and my parts are feeling immense gratitude, excitement, and curiousity as I move closer to deepening my understanding of Internal Family Systems (IFS), a model that has deeply shaped both my personal healing and professional path.

Here’s to continued learning, self-leadership, and connection!

Hope to see you there! šŸ‘‹šŸ»
