Chamber Vice-President Jeannette Austin made these remarks in awarding this year’s small business award for Employer of the Year to Brandon and Shane Wagstaff and Balkwill Pharmacy Ltd.:

The EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR award honours a small business that exemplifies exceptional leadership from owners, workplace culture, and employee support. This business is recognized for fostering a positive and motivating environment where staff feel valued and proud to be part of the team.

Since acquiring the business in 2018, brothers and business partners Brandon and Shane Wagstaff have continued to build upon BALKWILL PHARMACY'S long history in the community of Trochu. Every successful business counts as its greatest resource the hard work of capable, loyal employees. This award is a testament to Brandon and Shane's commitment to treating their employees with the utmost respect and care, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
