Rest can feel risky in a world that constantly asks us to do more, be more, and push through. The Risk of Resting is an eight week online art therapy group that invites you to slow down, explore your relationship with rest, and gently practice prioritizing self care without guilt. Inspired by the quiet wisdom of our therapy dog John Prine, expert napper, sun soaker, and reminder that rest is not something to earn, this group offers a supportive space to reflect, create, and reconnect with what your nervous system truly needs.
Through guided art making and group discussion, participants will explore themes of rest, burnout, boundaries, and resilience while building sustainable self care practices that can be carried into everyday life. No art experience is required, only curiosity and a willingness to pause (or paws 😉).
• The Risk of Resting Art Therapy Group
• Wednesdays 6 to 8 pm online
• Beginning February 11th
• Weekly for eight sessions excluding March Break
• Cost is sixty dollars per session
Participants may be eligible for reimbursement through private insurance plans that cover group psychotherapy or counselling. Indigenous participants with status may be approved for coverage through NIHB if they are not currently enrolled with another therapist.
If resting feels hard, you are not alone. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is slow down, lie in the sun, and let yourself rest, just like John Prine. ☀️🐾
