On today’s checklist ✅ - spend more time with those you love 💕

✨ A conversation in our household lately has been about how much time John and I spend at work or at home working/learning…etc. Having both John and I in medicine and naturopathic medicine respectively means you often can find us glued to our computers learning, charting, researching or managing a business (that ones on me). And often times we forget to shut down and enjoy each other’s company. ✨

So this is a reminder to turn off and spend time with those you love 💕

Tell me how you guys like to turn off with your families/loved ones in the comments below 👇

My journey to better health didn’t happen overnight 🌙 and neither will yours.

In today’s day and age, we want instant gratification. I am 100% guilty of this. 🙋‍♀️

But it is important to remember we didn’t get here overnight. We didn’t gain weight overnight and we didn’t develop any other lifestyle diseases for that matter overnight. We also didn’t develop bad relationships with food or ourselves overnight.

These two pictures span about 6 years and a lot of progress, hard work, going back to the basics and correcting hormonal imbalances.
*Eat Healthy 🥦
*Move your body 💃🏻
*Sleep 8 hours 💤
*Get Outside 🌸
*Manage Stress 🧘🏻‍♀️
*Connect to yourself 📿
*Honour your body 🙏
*Love yourself 💕

Trust that you are on the right path. Every day you are making progress. Progress doesn’t have to be perfection. 😊

Be patient. Be kind. Be yourself!

03/01/2021

Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin found in cod liver oil, salmon, swordfish, tuna, sardines, egg yolks, beef liver and other foods fortified with vitamin D, such as plant milks, dairy products, orange juice and cereals. It can also be produced by your body when exposed to sunlight!

Vitamin D is important for many metabolic processes in the body including:
Bone Health
Weight Management
Heart Health
Diabetes Prevention
Reducing the risk of premature death
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
Thyroid Health

As Canadians we are more at risk for vitamin D insufficiency and deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency is also common in those with inflammatory bowel disease, those who have undergone gastric bypass surgery and those with a higher BMI.

Taking too much vitamin D can also be dangerous - YES TOXICITY IS POSSIBLE!!! So talk to your naturopathic doctor or healthcare provider before introducing any new supplements into your routine and to find out what dose is right for you!
