Equi-Soul

Equi-Soul We offer horse guided wellness programs to help you build confidence, awareness, strategies and more! Growing up I always admired them and was drawn to them.

I've had a passion for horses ever since I learned how to walk; which was with a Fisher Price horse! It took me awhile to realize how important they were to me and how perceptive they truly are. I started pursuing my passion and love of horses on a more personal level about 16 years ago when I bought my first Quarter Horse Cheyenne. She has been my rock, my friend, my constant through the good and the bad. When I needed to regroup and re-evaluate my life I spent time with her. I learned a lot about myself with what she reflected back at me. Although it never occurred to me until recently what was happening. Fast forward a few years and I now have 9 horses and a great team with various backgrounds and training to help many more people in our community. Now I have my certification as an Equine Assisted Personal Development Coach and Professional Facilitator where I can bring my love and passion for horses to people. Nothing gives me more hope and joy then having someone else experience the true empathy that horses can portray to us. So enough about me, let's get started on you today!

A CONNECTION THAT NEEDS NO WORDS ❤️🐎

They say there’s a special bond between a human and a horse — quiet, yet unbelievably strong.
It’s more than trust… it’s when two hearts beat in the same rhythm.

In this moment, words no longer matter.
There is only warmth, calmness, and the feeling of being understood without a single sound.

A horse can sense our pain, our joy, our deepest emotions.
And in return, it gives something priceless — pure, genuine love.

Sometimes, one gentle touch is enough…
for two souls to connect as if they’ve known each other for a thousand years.

9 things you must do before the end of 2025

Feel this more every day

Sometimes, in this horse business, you just have to pause.

Not to think about the next chore, the next vet bill, the next training session, or the next tough decision—but to simply take a moment.

A moment to appreciate how far you’ve come.
To remember the early mornings before sunrise, the late nights checking on a horse just one more time, and all the sacrifices made to build something worth believing in. The challenges that tested your resilience. The setbacks that made you question everything. The days when the weight of responsibility felt overwhelming, but you kept going anyway.

The blood, sweat, and tears weren’t just part of running a barn—they’ve shaped the heart of it.
And the dreams… the ones you tucked away quietly because saying them out loud felt too risky if they didn’t come true. Those dreams mattered too. Because believing in something—believing in a horse, in a breeding program, in a vision for the future—when there are no guarantees, takes courage. Continuing to fight for it takes strength.

So take that moment.

Look around at the horses in your care, the people who support your vision, the life you’ve built around this passion.

Look within.

Maybe not every dream turned out how you pictured. Maybe some goals have shifted. But you’re standing in a place that your past self—the one who worked through exhaustion and doubt—would be proud to see.

You’ve learned. You’ve grown. And whether you whisper it or say it out loud—you built this.

And that matters.

It is with a heavy heart I share the news of the passing of one of our Hero with Hooves. Ghost sadly passed away last night surrounded by the herd.

Ghost was a special soul that came to the ranch 2 and a half years ago. He had been rescued from an auction in a sad state. His rescuers put all their love and care into him and he pulled through. Once he had recovered they knew it was time for him to find a soft landing. That's when Lynn and I went to see him. We told each other we weren't bringing any horses home, but after meeting him and seeing how sweet he was, we knew he belonged at Equi-Soul.

Ghost found his soft landing with us and the herd. He found friendship with Rhea, Lilly and Beau. He became a fat Thoroughbred (not typical for the breed), and learned he had a voice here. Through respectful conversations as I called them, we would stay within his comfort zone and negotiate what was being asked of him.

He will be greatly missed by many. He was a cool horse to work with and reminded me every day to ask rather than tell.

We are taking the time to grieve and say goodbye to Ghost this week. He will be buried next to his friends Cooper and Cheyenne. When Ghost came to the Ranch he spent his first couple of weeks with Cooper until he was ready to join the herd. It's comforting to know he will be laid to rest with them in his forever home.

Our Story

I've had a passion for horses ever since I learned how to walk; which was with a Fisher Price horse! Growing up I always admired them and was drawn to them. It took me awhile to realize how important they were to me and how perceptive they truly are. I started pursuing my passion and love of horses on a more personal level at age 20 when I bought my first Quarter Horse Cheyenne. She has been my rock, my friend, my constant through the good and the bad. When I needed to regroup and re-evaluate my life I spent time with her. I learned a lot about myself with what she reflected back at me. Although it never occurred to me until later what was happening.

Shortly after I rescued another horse for a companion for Cheyenne and myself. Beau is a Thoroughbred who although he never raced on a track, he has the markings and tattoo of one. He was rescued after living a year in poor conditions leaving many scars and fears. We worked together through those traumatic memories and he is now living his best life with Cheyenne.

My journey as a coach began back in 2015 when I discovered a course being held at Heavenly Acres in Brockville. I looked into the program and was immediately drawn to it; working with horses to help people. This sounded interesting. I contacted the instructors of Higher Trails who graciously let me volunteer for a day.

That day changed my life!
