Equi-Soul

Equi-Soul We offer horse guided wellness programs to help you build confidence, awareness, strategies and more! Growing up I always admired them and was drawn to them.

I've had a passion for horses ever since I learned how to walk; which was with a Fisher Price horse! It took me awhile to realize how important they were to me and how perceptive they truly are. I started pursuing my passion and love of horses on a more personal level about 16 years ago when I bought my first Quarter Horse Cheyenne. She has been my rock, my friend, my constant through the good and the bad. When I needed to regroup and re-evaluate my life I spent time with her. I learned a lot about myself with what she reflected back at me. Although it never occurred to me until recently what was happening. Fast forward a few years and I now have 9 horses and a great team with various backgrounds and training to help many more people in our community. Now I have my certification as an Equine Assisted Personal Development Coach and Professional Facilitator where I can bring my love and passion for horses to people. Nothing gives me more hope and joy then having someone else experience the true empathy that horses can portray to us. So enough about me, let's get started on you today!

The Year of the Snake has been a season of shedding. We are still here for a few days longer
Old identities. Survival patterns.

Stories that had already expired — even if we were still carrying them.

The snake doesn’t shed because it wants to.

It sheds because staying the same becomes heavier than change.

If we don’t consciously release what has outlived its purpose, what we no longer need our body — and our nervous system — will eventually do it for us.
Trust your body to give you divine wisdom to let go

As we move through 16–17 February, we transition from the Year of the Snake into the Year of the Horse.

And this moment asks one powerful question:
What am I carrying that no longer belongs in my life?

Name it. Acknowledge it. Write it down, burn it , And let it go.

The snake closes cycles internally. The horse moves us forward with power and determination
Not by force. Not by rushing.
But through readiness.

The Year of the Snake taught us how to release and let go
The Year of the Horse invites us into movement, Transformation and freedom.

I've been there.

Burnout happens when we ignore the signs our body tells us.

Burnout happens because we try to push through.

Burnout is what happens when we are doing something that just doesn't feel right morally but we do it anyways.

I've experienced burnout twice. Yep I didn't figure it out after the first time.

It starts out with little signs like you feel tired all the time. You resent going to work. You start having arguments with people that maybe you wouldn't normally fight with.

Your body starts to hurt or you hold tension in your shoulders, neck, back, etc. You may start having gut issues.

You stop sleeping well. You get sick more often and feel rundown.

Things start to become overwhelming. Normal tasks get pushed aside and you tell yourself you'll do it later but don't.

It's a spiral. It happens slowly little by little. Until you break. Or at least that's what happened to me.

Burnout is real and you are not alone. If any of this sounds familiar, now is the time to hit pause and ask yourself what is not aligning with you and your values? What could you change right now to help make a positive difference in your life?

Sometimes it's setting boundaries. Sometimes it's saying no or not people pleasing. Sometimes it's a career change or a move.

Whatever it may be one thing is for sure, there needs to be a shift. Something is no longer serving you and that's ok!

Let's talk about it.

Our Story

I've had a passion for horses ever since I learned how to walk; which was with a Fisher Price horse! Growing up I always admired them and was drawn to them. It took me awhile to realize how important they were to me and how perceptive they truly are. I started pursuing my passion and love of horses on a more personal level at age 20 when I bought my first Quarter Horse Cheyenne. She has been my rock, my friend, my constant through the good and the bad. When I needed to regroup and re-evaluate my life I spent time with her. I learned a lot about myself with what she reflected back at me. Although it never occurred to me until later what was happening.

Shortly after I rescued another horse for a companion for Cheyenne and myself. Beau is a Thoroughbred who although he never raced on a track, he has the markings and tattoo of one. He was rescued after living a year in poor conditions leaving many scars and fears. We worked together through those traumatic memories and he is now living his best life with Cheyenne.

My journey as a coach began back in 2015 when I discovered a course being held at Heavenly Acres in Brockville. I looked into the program and was immediately drawn to it; working with horses to help people. This sounded interesting. I contacted the instructors of Higher Trails who graciously let me volunteer for a day.

That day changed my life!
