This was such a powerful, liberating and challenging conversation with .nutritionist
Since we were kids, we’ve been given rules about food.
Eat this. Don’t eat that.
You can have one cookie, but only if you finish your dinner.
You need to earn dessert.
And as adults, the rules just got louder.
“Eat this much protein.”
“Cut carbs.”
“Go gluten-free.”
“Dairy causes inflammation.”
“Sugar is toxic.”
Most people I work with comes in asking for rules.
What’s right?
What’s wrong?
What should I be eating?
And underneath those questions, there’s often something deeper.
Shame when they can’t follow the rules perfectly.
Guilt when they eat something they “shouldn’t.”
And confusion because the rules keep changing.
But here’s the question that changes everything…
Do we even need these rules?
Are they grounded in science, or built on fear and perfectionism?
Are they helping us feel better, or creating more stress, judgment, and pressure?
Have they taken the joy out of eating and living?
In this powerful episode, I sit down with Dr. Jenn Salib Huber, ND (.nutritionist), to talk about what happens when we break up with food rules, and build a relationship with food that’s flexible, freeing, and grounded in trust and science.
Because real health doesn’t come from following the perfect plan.
It comes from understanding your body, and giving yourself permission to listen.
