Following on from my last post, I am going to share more about the facial maps that illuminate and make sense of different aspects of our emotional, physical, and vibrational health during a Face Reading. These maps add to the insights given by the size, shape, and position of each feature, and the interplay of the meanings encoded in each feature and line.
The first map that I'll share about is the 'Emotional Map'. This map decodes the meanings of the vertical and diagonal lines and wrinkles on the face. The position of these lines and wrinkles is not arbitrary - their placement shows the underlying emotion that is either being regularly expressed, or overly repressed.
There are also lines on the Emotional Map that show aspects of one's life path, levels of nervous system activation, and also blood pressure irregularities, for example.
One way to find out what might underlie a line or wrinkle, if you are not sure, is to try to make the expression that creates those lines and then feel what is underneath, e.g., is there anger, or frustration underneath, or perhaps pain or grief, joy or excitement?
The Emotional map is a valuable tool for reading and understanding our own facial lines, as well as for health professionals to gain insight into, and support the emotional well-being of their clients.
In Chinese Medicine, each organ system is related to a particular emotional state, and the over-expression or under-expression of an emotion can occur as a result of imbalances in that organ system, or conversely, may create imbalances in those organs over time, if not balanced.
Lines and wrinkles on the face can shift and be released as we shine light on what underlies them and find ways to process our emotions more fully, and express them in a balanced way.
