I’m taking some time to gather, celebrate and nest it up with my loved ones and kitties.

I’m so grateful for:
– my incredible clients that invited me into their lives this year

– my doula & community pals that refer people my way, and that I can laugh, learn & debrief with

– my loved ones that I can lean on & that take care of me during the ups & downs of navigating this world as a doula/small biz owner + big feeling human

“Fa la la la laa, keep your judgements to yourself!” 🎶

The festive season can be jolly, but it can also bring something NOT on your wish list: unsolicited “advice”!

Whether you’re pregnant, or you just welcomed a baby, here’s some handy responses as my gift to you:

🎁 “I get that worked for you, but we’re excited about the birth plan we have.”

🎁 “We’re choosing to not have visitors in the first 6 weeks. Thanks for understanding.”

🎁 “Every family is different. What works for one doesn’t work for another, and that’s ok.”

🎁 “We won’t be doing that.”

🎁 “I think your intentions are good, but that isn’t helpful.”

🎁 “I’m choosing to only focus on positive birth stories during my pregnancy. Thanks for being mindful of this.”

🎁 “I’m not looking for input on this. Right now I could just use [insert what you’re needing].”

🎁 If all else fails: know your limits and walk away - from the conversation, or if needed, the gathering.

Only you can decide what’s right for your birth and your parenting journey. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.
Period.

Honour your choices and boundaries - and leave the lumps of coal for the people on the naughty list. 🎅

❄️ I have December availability for daytime and overnight postpartum clients.

This popular doula service focuses on sleep, so that you can finally have that full night’s rest you need.

I take care of your baby’s feeds (or bring to you for a feed as needed), diapers, and soothe them back to sleep too.
