The Sentient Land ~

Episode 4 of my podcast gathered around this phrase that came to my mind one day of creating.

The concept of listening to the land, creating with the land, responding to the land . . . this is a concept my teachers brought to me, and my readings as a young adult of 11 and 12 years old, brought to me.

Having experienced death of loved ones around the age of ten years old, and then having this incredible experience while in nature . . . as I walked in desert hills among sagebrush . . . and feeling that I was alone but then having this sensed and felt and heart experience of never being alone, of instead being deeply embedded in the hug of being a part of everything . . . of a wild and natural timelessness . . . having this experience of a deep and timeless and ancient knowing . . . I began to read of life and death and shamanism and animism in our small Kamloops Public Library.

As a young woman, I would then walk in the sage brush dotted hills, communing with nature, inspired by my readings, and exploring what it is to sense the land in this full bodied and embodied knowing of the soul of things.

When we do this, we embody the deep wealth of our true wild nature, The Wild Self that knows that soul imbues the physical with life force, vitality and a wild intelligence that is a sentient knowing.

In this Wild Self Knowing, the mid-aligned false constructs, and out dated neural networks, of disconnected societal ideas that cause suffering . . . these are exposed for what they are.

Such as “loneliness.”

In this Episode 04 of Lead with Heart & Horses, I invite you to consider the sentience of the land, and explore this re connection to nature, and how horses hold a space, like a portal, to the Nature Magic of the Land.

When We Immerse ~

When We Immerse . . . in the truth of the moment . . . in the wild abandon to the unknown . . . in the simple yet difficult act of being with the Horse without touching, without trying, without expecting, without wanting . . . meeting them in reflection of what is . . . in the present moment . . . there

There, you will find magic.

We forget, that it takes a lot for us to shed . . . To shed & to shed & to shed, the layers of niceties, conventions, expected behaviours that we have been trained to hold in our bodies while being around animals and around each other and around those awkward first moments of the Horse Session.

Yet, . . . by knowing this, . . . and trusting in the energies of the moment, and the energies of the Horse, to take us deeper, further, higher, into the liminal space of transcendence . . .

we can truly purify from all those extra layers that aren’t needed, when we seek fulfillment and contentment, in the present moment,

when we ask to meet the images of the Archetypal Layer of consciousness, of dream space, of deep knowing from our own inner spark of magic meeting the energies that exist to hold us, to carry us, back to ourselves . . .

in these moments, our soul is re-born.

And, I find it ironic, that my love of this unscripted magical Horse Medicine space, holds freedom for the soul . . .

while my profession of healing, that carries whispers of ancient knowing buried deep within the secular striving of the modern day science . . . my profession that means “to heal the soul” . . . is only just coming back to the edges of the mystic, from which it was born.

We live in interesting times. I feel the calling of the soul to be remembered, through wild nature, through Horse Mysticism, through the Archetypes of Dream Time, is strong.

We are renourishing our scaffolding, and reclaiming what was lost, and though this may seem difficult at times, beneath the process of releasing the old, is a deep and profound joy.

And this, can be found, simply in the moment of being silent with an animal, with the land, in kindness, in dissolving of the layers, without needing to do, and simply unfolding into what it is, to be.

Presence & Energy with Horses: Episode 3 ~

I am in love with this discussion held with Guliz Unlu of

In Episode 3 of Lead with Heart & Horses, Guliz brings her own unique brand of wisdom, grown in years of expertise with the horse, and starting with the charming story of how her mom held space for her with horses.

At a young age, Guliz was given a horse, and encouraged to ride and be with her horse, in a place of listening to the horse. In this episode, she speaks to how she was learning from the horse, as she learned to ride, and how her mother, through her intention, held a space for free exploration.

As we hear of her offerings now, and her life’s work currently placed deep in the wilds, we hear of how she has studied The Present Moment with horses, and both the practical safety and intuitive connection, this study brings.

Her program EFAM, holds this space of Presence clearly. She speaks to the practice of shedding the layers gold human interference with the present moment - within and without - so that we can learn how to not have those layers take us out of the Truth of the Present Moment.

As we listen to her, we learn how to trust that inner voice that is alert to the energies of Presence, how listening and being in these energies allows us to be like the little dog that runs between the legs of the moving horse herd, uninjured, safe.

We then speak to the timing of our evolution as a species, how horses hold the key to our return to our needed and innate connection to nature, to the Horse Prophecy, to transformative horse experiences and to a coming Age of Light.

I hope you enjoy this one as much as I have. I have renewed energy in following my knowing within my riding sessions, and simply so much love for this wave of women and horses redefining how we show up, connect to nature, and connect to Presence.

Listening to~

We listen when we’re on the ground, but do we listen when we ride?

The art of listening deepens each time we practice.

As the listening capacity deepens, the realization of how little we were listening before, arrives; sometimes, this can even be shocking.

To truly listen, past the myriads of interpretations that our prefrontal cortex brings … to truly listen to the present moment, is an art, a mastery, and a remembering our true Wild and Natural Self.

In my listening training with there is a level of awareness that happens, that I am curious to bring to presence while riding.

4 years ago, I started the inquiry into intuitive riding with several others, and the conversations were enriched, the moments of connection to the horse, profound and beautiful, including our explorations into this while riding.

I continue to bring this inquiry forward, weaving it into my quiet studies alone with my horses.

Lately, I have been finding such a beauty, with this practice.

Fairyland and Horses ~

There is a place for the beauty of nature, the magic we feel in the wilds, and the stories of the Fae and fairy that bring us back to an ability to sense the awe hidden within the present moment in wilderness - a wilderness within, and a wilderness without.

Horses hold an energetic key for us to step back into that state of free and wild, natural beauty, that we be.

And so, there are moments in the listening with horses, in the sinking in, to the magic of the present moment with horses, that we slow down enough to feel the deep resplendence of every breath, of ourselves, of that which is around us.

In these moments, we recover our magic.

We attune to a beautiful rhythm of aliveness, of vitality, of knowing, of sensing, who we truly are, who we truly be.

Like the faery tales of the lost and hidden sweet heart, who finally sheds her cinders to allow her beauty to shine, or the tales of the hero troubled by obstacle after obstacle, who finally rises triumphant, with the source of greed tossed into the fires from which it was forged, and is restored in an elven Kingdom and Queendom.

Those potent moments, that horses usher us into with their rare magic, some of it explained by neuroscience - those moments allow us to make that hero’s journey in the short space of a few hours or less.

We purify, back to our Wild Self.

One of the beautiful moments in the Horse Prophecy by Edgar Cayce of almost 100 years ago, is when he speaks to horses helping us recall our free and natural selves that had been dismissed, all for connection to machines.

I love that I was recently asked for these high definition photos and, in editing them, felt so satisfied by the way this one captures the essence of a faery like moment as we experienced the faery like world of being in the heart field, and heart language, and heart portal that horses open for us.

To return to the magic of our most true selves.

The Moment ~

There is a moment in retreat where you see the depth of connection between horse and human, land.

As equine guided coaches, these moments are the beautiful times where something aligns, clicks, or as we would say in theatre, the penny drops.

The energetics harmonize.

Authenticity happens.

Clarity arrives, insight awakens, and the moment is unlike what we might have imagined, because it happens on a different level than we are used to acknowledging.

And, as we sift our awareness onto that different level, we are now awake to a different possibility of how to approach challenges, blind spots, etc …

Like slowly awakening from a deep slumber, we become aware that this level of consciousness - this mode of intelligence - this layer of feel and timing - this mind’s eye intuition - that we gradually rouse to, is a place from which we can live.

It’s a place from which we can navigate, and direct our lives.

We can call it intuition.

We can call it a level of consciousness.

We can call it a magical intelligence.

Being in that place, is wordless.

The words lack, as to what that place is.

Almost like a different language, or a rhythm, or a tuning of frequencies, this place is what deeply guides us, whether we are conscious to it or not.

So when we become conscious to - awake to - this place, then … a real living begins.

Horses Hold the Dream Steady ~

We had such a gorgeous discussion today.

I have been curious about how Chloe of found her property, her horses, and her way of holding the serious and sacred space of intuitive horse connection.

After introduced us, having guided both of us to a deepening with horses, we had been chatting back & forth, and finally met today to share some of our conversation in this podcast episode.

As a growing number of women host intuitive connection with horses and the land, there is a usefulness to our conversation. Part of this practical benefit is to support women to have the confidence to hold space for horses, and so renew a knowing that has been part of our hidden heritage.

Horse Medicine Archetypes & Neuroscience ~

I am honoured to present a space of teaching tomorrow as a guest teacher for the Equine Facilitated Applied Modality Certification program offered by

The archetypal layer of consciousness holds a great power to initiate transformation within our inner self. We can access this beautiful, mystical and rich layer of reality through many practices, yet the profound moments that happen when we allow horses to travel us to the archetypal resonances are specifically profound and enduring.

Infused with the intricacies of the neuroscience of the archetypal layer, tomorrow we will explore the power of the story, the images, the deeply personal felt experience that exists before words in the primordial journey that horses guide us on and how, as a human being, to walk with our horses as the regal majestic and royal councillors of intuitive intelligence that they be.

We will review

• the archetypal layer of consciousness

• the neuroscience of the three layers on consciousness

• the facilitation of access to the archetypal layer in partnership with our horses

Mentorship group ~

I’ve had some lovely people reach out for horse things over the last year, and am thinking of trying something new …

Over the last seventeen years, I’ve been involved in mentorship in various capacities. Mostly I work with individuals, in an annual program after an initial session or a three month test drive.

However, I’d love to open up mentoring in a new space … that of a mentorship group.

Many scientific studies show that the discussion in a group learning setting, improve learning, follow through and social connection; and newer research shows that virtual sessions improve comfort, honesty and ease that deepens learning.

This introductory mentorship group is for you if you…

• want to deepen your capacity to connect with your horse or horses

• are interested to review specific exercises to strengthen your intuitive connection with the horse, whether for personal depth or for offering exercises to clients

• are considering an equine-guided business, or already are conducting an equine-guided business

• are curious about how to understand related neuroscience and energetics of the heart field and the energy body in horse guided self discovery

• would like to learn a little more about horse language & behaviour

• for some reason, are drawn to my way of being with my horses, and would like to try three months in a group virtual setting

This mentorship group is open to four women (with female brains) interested to deepen into an understanding of how women can explore advancing human intelligence through the unique, noble, exquisitely sensitive and enchanting realm of the horse.
