Cupping is a form of soft tissue mobilization utilized by our practitioners. The origins of cupping date back to Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. Nowadays you might see circular bruise-like markings on a fellow athlete at the gym or on your favourite olympian on TV.

In a chiropractic treatment cupping is used to compliment adjustments and exercise rehabilitation. Cupping increases circulation to a treatment area and encourage cellular repair.

Our cups are plastic and remain on the skin for 1 -3 minutes. Some patients bruise more heavily than others but your practitioner is careful to discuss this with patients prior to treatment. The marks typically are not painful.
