COPD is a lung disease that limits airflow through the lungs and causes cough and shortness of breath. The purpose of this study is to use chest computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to determine the changes in the lungs that are related to COPD.
Although this study is looking at COPD, people with healthy lungs are being included in the study to act as controls. The results from people with COPD will be compared to those with healthy lungs to help determine what changes in the lungs are related to COPD.
If you have healthy lungs and are aged 40-90, you may be eligible to participate in this study. If you are interested, please contact respiratory.research@hli.ubc.ca or call 604-806-8391.
