addressing conflict doesn't need to be daunting. By staying calm, listening actively, using "I" statements, seeking commonalities, and being open to differing views, we can handle disagreements constructively. It's about mutual understanding and collaboration, not "winning" the argument.

Psychological abuse at work is shockingly common, with a prevalence four times higher than sexual harassment. 😱 Workplace stress is the fifth leading cause of death in the United States, and workplace bullying is often referred to as a silent epidemic, affecting over 79 million U.S. employees.

Common examples of workplace bullying include;
🚫spreading lies
🚫excessive micromanagement
🚫exclusion from crucial work communication
🚫misrepresenting employee performance
🚫assigning tasks beyond an employee's duties without compensation.

Workplace mobbing includes;
🚫blame-shifting

Remote work 🏡 may seem physically safer, but it's not immune to harassment and bullying. The shift to digital tools has moved opportunities for bullies and harassers to the virtual world. Employers must take virtual harassment seriously, as it can lead to liability and other consequences.

Recent studies reveal a significant percentage of Canadian workers experiencing sexual harassment through online messaging and text 📱. Despite reduced face-to-face interactions in remote work, virtual tools offer new avenues for harassment. Many employees report that virtual harassment has either remained the same or worsened.

To combat virtual harassment, employers should maintain regular communication with employees to reinforce anti-harassment policies and encourage victims to come forward. When addressing harassers, employers should conduct thorough investigations and implement appropriate disciplinary measures.

Virtual harassment can have severe effects on victims, impacting their well-being and the organization's reputation and productivity. Creating a safe and respectful remote work environment is essential. 🤝

Today's business landscape is rapidly evolving, and technology is reshaping not just how companies market themselves but also how they operate. Traditional hierarchies are giving way to open, decentralized models driven by IoT, AI, blockchain, and data analytics.

Research shows that organizations embracing these structures benefit from higher entrepreneurial behaviour, better talent retention, and superior financial performance. In a world where competitive advantage erodes 10 times faster, adapting is essential.

Transitioning to this new model is challenging but doesn't require a complete overhaul. The key is selectively implementing decentralized models where they offer a competitive edge.

Is your organization ready to ride the tech wave to success? We can help.🚀

09/13/2023

In today's workplaces, personality clashes can be common. But where does the line between conflict and harassment stand? The Canada Labour Code defines workplace harassment as conduct causing offense, humiliation, or harm to an employee. Often, personality conflicts don't meet these criteria. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️

Recent arbitration cases in several Canadian provinces illustrate this distinction. While personality clashes can cause tension, they may not qualify as harassment or bullying. However, when conflicts escalate, employers face greater risks, both legally and in maintaining a healthy work environment. ⚖️

Balancing respect for individual differences and professionalism is essential. While some tension is normal, employers can expect mature conflict resolution from their teams. Proactive approaches to resolution are crucial to prevent harm to individuals and the organization's reputation. 💼

At TNZ, we specialize in navigating complex workplace issues, offering conflict resolution and professionalism-building services. Contact us to ensure your workplace remains harmonious and productive. 🌟

In today's ever-evolving workplace, it's crucial for organizations to adapt and review their support structures. No longer can we expect employees to leave their troubles at the door. Life spills over, and it's our responsibility as businesses to manage it effectively.

Clear policies are key. Educating employees about company expectations creates a foundation for success.

But what's even more powerful is involving the individuals in conflict as part of the solution. It takes two to tango in a conflict, and it takes two (or more) to mend it.

At TNZ, we specialize in conflict resolution that transforms challenges into learning opportunities, empowering individuals and strengthening teams. It's a win-win scenario where everyone emerges stronger.
