Mindful eating isn’t just about what you eat — it’s how you eat.

Our nervous system and digestion are connected, so slowing down can help your body absorb nutrients more effectively. Here are a few tips from Emily Pankratz, Clinical Nutritionist & BIE Practitioner:

〰️ Eat without distractions – phones, TV, and work can interfere with digestion.

〰️ Take 3–5 deep belly breaths before meals to activate “rest and digest.”

〰️ Chew intentionally – aim for 10 chews per bite to kickstart enzymes.

〰️ Check in with your hunger cues – ask: “Am I hungry? Am I full? What am I craving?”
