We are a duo of passionate educators wishing to support and empower Health Care Providers to be resilient, have strong professional boundaries, navigate difficult conversations, and avoid burnout. Stephania Johnson (she/her) became a Registered Massage Therapist in BC, Canada, in 2007. Since then she has worked in private practice, massage education, and college administration. Stephania taught core curriculum at Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in Vancouver, had a hand in guiding the program's development, and worked as the Clinic Manager, running both the in-school student clinic and multiple outreach locations. Stephania has survived periods of burnout in all of these jobs and hopes to help others do the same. Danny Mullane (she/her) has a degree in Human Services and over 22 years' experience working in the field including: drug and alcohol treatment, domestic violence, psychiatric hospitals, foster care, and as a behaviour specialist in educational settings. She has worked as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician, aka ambulance paramedic) in Chicago and the state of Washington, and previously served in the United States Army. Danny completed half of her massage therapy training in Vancouver, BC, before the covid pandemic interrupted her studies and forced her to return South of the border.
