Join us for a rare live performance with life partners and creative collaborators Beverly Glenn-Copeland and Elizabeth Copeland for a magical evening of song, story, and shared joy on Friday, January 16, 7:30PM at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts
For over four decades, Canadian composer, singer and songwriter Beverly Glenn-Copeland, or Glenn, as he likes to be called, has invoked and celebrated the power of community and connection through music. A beloved Canadian Black trans elder, he and his partner Elizabeth have created works rooted in one luminous truth: that art can dissolve the disconnection that keeps us apart.
Glenn’s genre-defying career includes acting on the iconic children’s television show Mr. Dressup, as well as a contributor to Sesame Street and Shining Times Station. Only in the last decade though, has Glenn’s work been given the attention it deserves, including the rediscovery of his Polaris Heritage Prize-winning 1986 electronic masterpiece, Keyboard Fantasies, musical collaborations with Bon Iver and Sam Smith, and most recently, his latest album, The Ones Ahead, which was praised by Pitchfork as “a joyous, hope-filled showcase of his singular voice and healing vision.”
