Want stronger, more stable hips? 💪

Here are my 3 go-to exercises that keep my hips happy and moving:

1️⃣ Single-Leg RDL – Builds glutes & hamstrings while training balance and teaching your hips to hinge safely, protecting your back and knees.

2️⃣ Hip CARs – Moves your hips through their full range with control, keeping joints mobile and preventing stiffness from sitting.

3️⃣ Banded Mountain Climber – Dynamically strengthens hip flexors and engages your core for better running, stair climbing, and explosive movement.

✨ Consistency beats intensity. Just a few minutes a day makes a difference!

Want shoulders that stay strong and injury-free? Here are the tips I give my patients all the time 💪✨

✅ Strengthen your rotator cuff — they’re your shoulder’s main stabilizers
✅ Don’t skip mid-back work — strong scapular muscles = happy shoulders
✅ Watch your posture — slouching crowds the joint and strains tissues
✅ Warm up before lifting — especially overhead
✅ Balance push and pull — chest and back both matter
✅ Listen to early warning signs — fix tightness before it turns into pain

Strong, healthy shoulders don’t just happen—they’re built.

Meet Jamie Hartwell 👋

🎓 Jamie Hartwell is a Registered Physiotherapist (MPT, BHK, CAFCI) and the founder of Hartwell Therapy & Wellness. With clinics across South Vancouver, she created a space focused on both physical recovery and mental well-being.

💼 Jamie works with a wide range of clients—from athletes to individuals recovering from motor vehicle and workplace injuries. Her approach is all about helping people stay active, move confidently, and heal with purpose.

🗣️ Fluent in English and conversational in Mandarin and Cantonese, Jamie ensures her care is inclusive and accessible to her diverse community.

🏀 Outside the clinic, Jamie enjoys basketball, dancing, and traveling. Born and raised in Vancouver, she remains deeply connected to the city she serves.

On September 23rd we had the pleasure of supporting a local event called the Move for H20 at their 5 and 10km run event this year. This has been an event we have volunteered our time to since the inception of the company. Their fundraising has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and has allowed them to supply safe and clean water to many communities around the world less fortunate than ourselves. We are grateful for the time our therapists donate in support providing onsite pre and post run massages. Come see Daniel, Josh and Jodie at our clinics soon for some massages!
