In 1992, Dr. Gerald Boey founded the Arbutus Laser Centre. Originally from Saskachewan, he moved out to Vancouver and continued his laser career in treating infants with port wine stains. Within the first 5 years of practice, the clinic included laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, sclerotherapy (injection of spider veins on the legs) and laser for skin conditions such as Rosacea & sun damage.
