We live in a moment where women are no longer waiting to be invited into change — we are creating it together.

Across communities, workplaces, and health systems, women are lifting each other up and pushing the dial on the status quo.

Our Health Champions for Beyond Wellness are no different. I am in awe of each of these women and the impact they are creating.

✨ Dr. Melissa Lem — advancing nature and social prescribing.
✨ Sonja Foley, Co-Founder of — transforming how workplaces support women through life transitions.
✨ Claudia Chirico of — bringing healing that honours the whole self.
✨ Dr. Renée Fernandez of — shaping health policy and systems with courage and integrity.
✨ Sonia Sunger — the trusted voice behind health and healing on and our media sponsor.

And today I am especially honoured to welcome another phenomenal woman to this circle of health champions — someone whose work and leadership I deeply admire.

✨ Dr. Brittany Bingham — a proud member of the shíshálh (Sechelt) Nation and a leading voice in Indigenous women’s health, uplifting matriarchal wisdom and Indigenous leadership to transform health systems at

While today we celebrate women, Beyond Wellness is a space for everyone — for all who believe that authenticity, belonging, and care are at the heart of what it means to be healthy.

Because when we lift one another, entire communities rise.

✨ In honour of International Women’s Day, you can use code WOMEN2026 for tickets today.

Remember to invite the men to this event as it’s not a women’s only event 🙏Link in bio.

Right now many people are carrying complex emotions.

Fear.
Hope.
Relief.
Grief.
Uncertainty.

Human beings are capable of holding more than one feeling at the same time. That is part of our humanity.

But social media often pushes us toward extremes — asking us to follow one narrative, one version of truth. Even though many of us share the same hope: freedom for the people of Iran and an end to tyranny.

Be mindful of who you follow and who you listen to.
Not everything circulating is grounded in truth.

Real life is rarely that simple.

Everyone carries their own history, experiences, traumas, and political views. When we rush to judge or shame one another, we risk losing the very humanity we are trying to protect.

If you want to support your Iranian friends, colleagues, and community right now, the most meaningful thing you can do is simply hold space.
Listen.
Be present.
And try not to make assumptions about how someone should feel.

Pause.
Breathe.
Stay present.

And remember that most of us are simply trying to make sense of a complicated moment. Most of us are not thinking in black and white. Many of us are living in the grey — and worried about what the future may bring.

Hope for peace.
Hope for humanity.

War brings a deep sense of despair for many of us right now.

For those of us with loved ones, roots, and memories tied to Iran, the emotions are layered — fear, grief, hope, and uncertainty.

We are praying for the people of Iran.
For their safety.
For dignity.
For freedom.

But being glued to the news or social media all day will not bring us closer to peace — and it will not care for our nervous systems.

Step outside.
Take a slow breath.
Be with the people you love.
Check in on a neighbour or a friend.

Moments like this can divide people quickly, especially when opinions about war differ.

Despite our views, may we remember that suffering is real — and our humanity must come first.

We are in this together.

With care,
Dr. Z 🤍

As a physician, I am seeing many patients unsettled and worried right now.

For my Iranian community — and for those who care deeply — what we are feeling is layered.

Fear and hope.
Grief and courage.

Many are anxious. Not sleeping well. Carrying uncertainty in their bodies.

Because emotions have memory.
Our nervous systems remember past instability and loss. Moments like this can awaken all of it.

We may not understand or agree with global decisions.
We may not know what comes next.

It’s easy to see things as black and white.
To argue. To persuade. To demand certainty.

But not at the cost of our humanity.

For now —
pause.
breathe slowly.
step outside.
limit the noise.
speak gently to yourself and others.

We pray for the people.
For safety.
For dignity.
For peace.

When we regulate ourselves, we become steadier for our families and our communities.

Check in on someone this week — especially the women in your village, as we mark International Women’s Week.
Presence is enough.

With love,
Dr Z 🤍

For Iranians and non-Iranians alike
this is a time of complex emotions.

Fear and hope.
Grief and relief.

May we meet this moment with compassion, understanding, and care for the people at the heart of it all

We often frame life, and leadership, as a series of either/or decisions.

Be strong or break.
Push through or step back.
Perform or fall behind.

So we learn to cope.
To adapt.
To survive.

But survival is not the same as healing.
And performance is not the same as regulation.

Beyond Wellness invites a different conversation, one that examines what sustainable leadership actually requires in uncertain times.

For too long, we’ve been told that health is about pushing harder.
Doing more.
Holding it all together alone.

But what if the future of health is not more doing, it’s belonging?!

When people feel safe and seen, something shifts.
Nervous systems settle.
Conversations deepen.
Healing becomes collective.

Beyond Wellness is more than an event.
It’s a movement toward authenticity, belonging, and care.

Join us on April 21, 2026.
Be part of the conversation shaping the future of health.

Be strong or be silent.
Push forward or fall apart.

But what if those were never the only choices?

How we choose to define our lives
as the world tries to define strength, leadership, and resilience for us.

Beyond Wellness is about shifting the narrative
and reconnecting with the essence of health and wellbeing.

Join this movement — because the future of health begins with us.

We don’t choose the environment that shaped our early mind.
But we do choose how we respond, grow, and create from here.

When I stepped into one of the most senior negotiation roles, my predecessor looked at me and said:
“I hope you have a wife at home.”

It wasn’t encouragement.
It was a reminder of what people assume about women in leadership:
that you can’t do this level of work and have a life… unless someone else is carrying the invisible load.

That moment stayed with me.
And it’s part of why I wrote my first Substack article—about invisible labour, leadership, and what we’re really holding behind the scenes.
