My obsession with handmade Japanese eyewear reached a whole new level in December 2024, when I had the privilege of visiting Masunaga in Sabae, Fukui Prefecture—the birthplace of Japanese eyewear.

Seeing the process with my own eyes was unforgettable. Every frame, shaped by skilled artisans using both hand and machine, reflected an extraordinary level of craftsmanship. The attention to detail was beyond anything I had imagined.

This wasn’t just eyewear—it was art. A different level entirely.
