“Looking beyond behaviour to unexpressed needs”.

Behaviour is communication. Instead of trying “extinguish” behaviours, we can ask:
- why is this child acting this way?
- what need isn’t being met?
- how might they be feeling?

So many areas of Speech Language Pathology that many don’t know about.

What this doesn’t say, and is related to swallowing, is that SLPs are also qualified to supporting eating difficulties (such as picky eating), and feeding disorders.

Did you know that speech language pathologists assess and treat swallowing difficulties in all age groups? Thank you for this awesome infographic!
