Offering courses since 1994, we are North America's pioneer Pet First Aid program. Welcome to the Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid page! Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid offers Pet First Aid courses and supplies for pet care professionals and pet lovers. Our courses are offered across Canada with expansion into the USA and other countries. If you live outside of a course offering, distance learning is also available or better yet, consider taking our Instructor course to teach in your area. Our 10 hour course covers both dog and cat emergency first aid as well as preventative health measures. No previous First Aid experience is needed. Our 3 hour OFF THE GRID course will outdoor enthusiasts and people from remote regions even more prepared. And the best part, you will earn a Certificate while working with live wiggly pets while learning to bandage, splint, find vital signs, and more! We encourage open discussion on our page, but we ask you to follow a few guidelines for respecting community standards. Hey Vancouver friends! This year WNW Head Office is collecting items for SAINTS Rescue together with our friends Discover Dogs for our 14th annual Holiday Charity Drive.

Drop by Discover Dogs at Yukon & W 8th in Vancouver. They have a donation box setup and carry some of SAINTS wish list in house.

Here are a few ideas of what is needed:
🐶 Canned dog food (limited ingredients only, nothing with chicken/beef/pork due to allergies). Peanut butter flavour Greenies pill pockets.
🐱 Canned cat food (any kind), no dry please. Cat scratchers/towers. Salmon flavour. Pill pockets and treats. Of course catnip!
🐰 Oxbow senior rabbit pellets. SAINTS has 12 bunnies. They rarely get rabbit donations, toys, hides, chews etc.
🐹 Oxbow senior guinea pig pellets. They have several guinea pigs, they also get Oxbow Natural Science vitamin C cookies daily.
🐢 Turtle food (ReptoMin or Mazuri but would feed other pellets as well). Dried bugs (assorted, for birds and turtles)
🐦 Oyster shells for birds, bird toys, perches, ropes.
🧼 Garbage bags, laundry soap, paper towel, bleach. Towels, flat sheets, blankets (no holes including knitted). Rubber backed mats (any size)

Our kind Seattle team has chosen a deserving charity for Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid 14th annual Holiday Charity Drive.

For as many years as we can remember, instructors from Pet First Aid Seattle have participated in our event, currently supporting Pawsitive Alliance.

"Pawsitive Alliance is dedicated to both finding loving homes for homeless cats and dogs through our Adoption Program and proactively preventing pet homelessness through our Spay and Neuter Increase Program (SNIP) and Pet Retention Program."

For multiple years, Calgary instructor Nicki Braun from Chasin' Tails Pet First Aid has participated in our event, currently supporting Parachutes for Pets.

Today we feature an Alberta charity for Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid 14th annual Holiday Charity Drive.

For over a decade, instructor Leah Daoust of Canine Connection Pet Services - Pet First Aid has participated, currently supporting Camrose & Area Animal Shelter Society.

Here is the society’s VISION STATEMENT: “Responsible homes for happy, healthy pets. After just over a year of fundraising, raising awareness and gaining the support of the City and community, The Camrose & Area Animal Shelter Society received the keys for our leased space November 1, 2017 and promptly began to take in stray and homeless cats from Camrose, and a few from surrounding areas.”

A new featured charity today for Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid 14th annual Holiday Charity Drive.

Belleville ON Instructor Stephanie Pignoli of Furball's Choice has joined us this year, supporting Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward.

According to their web site, Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward "returns lost animals to families, coordinates adoption of animals to forever homes, provides medical care and other necessities for animals in distress, provides spay/neuter services to control pet over-population and educates the public about animal welfare."

🐾The 14th Annual Holiday Charity Drive kicked off today! 🐾

Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid instructors have joined forces to collect donation items for our 14th annual Holiday Charity Drive.
From December 1-21, 2025 please drop off your new or gently used clean pet items to any of our 13 drop off locations.

Reminders: Sealed and non-expired food is preferred. Please wash all clothing/bedding if it is pre-used.

We will be posting wish lists for each rescue starting tomorrow, watch out here and learn about the amazing work that each of them do.

Thank you for once again for being there for animals who need us.

This group of seasoned pet professionals didn’t disappoint! They were energetic, engaged and delivered some truly top notch course presentations. We had a blast!
