Grace struggled with chronic sports-related injuries for several years until massage therapy gave her the means to live pain-free again. This transformation inspired her to complete the 3000 hour RMT training at Vancouver College of Massage Therapy and become a RMT in 2014. Grace aims to make her clients feel at ease and will work with clients to design individual treatment plans that will get them back to a healthy and functional state. She strongly believes that education on body awareness is an integral part of the therapy, and to get better one must not only address the symptoms, but understand the cause of the pain. Through techniques such as Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques, and deep tissue Swedish Massage, Grace can help relieve effects of stress, acute as well as chronic issues, headaches, and repetitive motion injuries. Since she has always had a strong passion in working with athletes, she is proud to be a RMT in the BC Bike Race's Wellness Team, supporting hundreds of mountain bikers as they compete in a 7-day race around the province. When she is not working with clients or students you will find her skiing the local hills and Whistler in the winter, or lifeguarding Vancouver beaches in the summer. The BC Bike Race Wellness Team is hitting the road! This year is the 12th anniversary of the world’s best mountain bike event, with almost 650 riders from 40 different countries. I’m so honoured and proud of be a part of this family, and we’re looking forward to taking care of all the riders and crew on !

Module 3 of the Integrated Fascial Techniques series is done! We spent the weekend exploring myofascial mobilization, and we had the privilege of Natale and Heather’s wonderful instruction.

If any RMTs are looking to take any courses, the brand new Bodhi Tree Teaching Centre in Langley is a dream facility to learn in!

I have the privilege of being a part of the Integrated Fascial Therapies program, which is a series of courses over the next two years taught by the amazing Heather Gittens and Natale Rao. This weekend is all about visceral manipulation of the digestive system - learning how disorders in the body relate to the organs and vice versa, and how to treat them. I will be back in clinic at Qi Integrated Health on Tuesday Nov. 28, so a friendly reminder to all to !

Fun fact: I’m hanging out at VCMT all weekend on the 4th anniversary of my graduation from the RMT program! I’m even sitting in the exact same chair that literally carried me through my 30 months here. Incredible how time has flown by!
