The Clarius App defaults to Auto Gain to optimize your brightness instantly. But what if you need to fine-tune your image for a specific clinical scenario?
In this month’s tip, our resident sonographer Shelley Guenther shows you how to unlock manual Time Gain Compensation (TGC).
Shelley’s Pro Tip: Don't hesitate to manually adjust TGC when anatomy or pathology demands it. If you're scanning a carotid artery and see artifacts from overlying structures, simply:
✅ Tap the orange “A” to deactivate Auto Gain
✅ Decrease “Near Gain” to clean up echoes in the vessel
✅ Increase “Far Gain” to brighten deeper structures
