It's Not In Your Head

It's Not In Your Head is a campaign to promote awareness about a chronic genital pain conditon called Provoked Vestibulodynia (PVD).

The Women's Health Research Institute's Dr. Lori Brotto led a study with the University of British Columbia on the use of mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy to help manage the pain associated with Provoked Vestibulodynia (PVD). This condition is characterized by provoking pain with touch to the vulvar area, which can include the insertion of tampons, pap smears, closeness of clothing, or sex. PVD affects up to 10% of women, yet many suffer in silence because there are no physical indicators for health providers to base a diagnosis on.

is a campaign to promote awareness and let women know that their pain is real, and they are not alone.
