In 2011, a University of Chicago study showed that empathy responses were found to have been developed earlier in the evolutionary chain than previously believed.

If we are *built* to empathize ... then can it be more safely established that selfishness and individuality are learned traits.

I just found out that doctors in BC, ON, MB, and SK can register themselves with Parks Canada, which allows them to *prescribe* a National Parks Pass! This program started in 2021, so I'm clearly behind in this but what a wonderful aid in the pursuit of mental health and wellness!

If you understand the benefits of nature on mental wellness, live near a national park, historic site, or marine conservation area, and might otherwise struggle to buy an annual pass normally ($75.25 for a single adult), the PaRx program may be just the thing to ask your GP about.

Canada's nature prescription program, PaRx, has announced a new collaboration allowing its registered health-care professionals to prescribe a free Discovery Pass to patients.
