Dr. Harry Stefanakis holds a doctorate degree in psychology and is registered with College of Psychologists of BC (01489). He is an experienced counselor and educator who communicates effectively with both humour and clarity. Harry sees people from a wholistic perspective and attends to the integration of individuals' emotional, mental, physical, spiritual and social dimensions of life. In addition to his private practice, Harry has worked within social services, correctional, educational and occupational rehabilitation settings. He has presented at numerous national and international conferences as well as providing training, workshops and therapeutic interventions on addictions; anger, conflict, stress and pain management issues; stopping violence and abuse; and facilitating the change process. He has produced two audio CDs entitled: Guided Presence & Letting Go: Guided Exercises for Relaxation and Pain Relief. He is one of the featured instructors in a recently produced DVD on hypnosis training and appears in the video Men Speak Up: Ending Violence Together. Dear Friends,
I hope this note finds you well. I wanted to share something close to my heart — my new poetry collection, Words That Mend: Verses in Resilience and Renewal.
The book grows out of the same terrain as my clinical and teaching work — the meeting point between language, healing, and presence. These poems were written in the quiet spaces that therapy and reflection make possible: moments when words become more than expression, becoming instead a way of listening, of mending, of restoring coherence.
