It's almost Spring!🌷In Chinese Medicine, Spring is associated with the Liver which channels into the Eyes.

To support your Liver, stock up on these greens for the whole family:
🥬Asparagus
🥬Arugula
🥬Parsley
🥬Spinach
🥬Watercress

And rest your eyes👀. Take a break from screen time and go outside and look at the leaves on trees. Green colour is soothing for the eyes (supporting Liver enery) and being outside in 3D will use your eye muscles in a more balanced way.💚

So many people have helped me along the way in all different ways. Adrienne helped in a surprising way. I met her for acupuncture - to help heal my body - and she helped heal my heart. That’s right...she met me with incredible kindness, empathy, and love. She is by far the least judgmental person I know and this is exactly what I needed. She provided me with the safe space to release my stress and burdens, my fears and my worries. Life is so interesting...how the right people show up just when you need them (even though you don’t always know you need them). Thank you, .adrienneacupuncture

Fiddleheads!! 😋 Catch them before they're gone! If you are lucky enough to get your hands on these seasonal gems, be sure to grab them as fiddlehead season is very short and they disappear fast.
🌿
The key to health is to follow nature's cycles. Certain foods show up in abundance at certain times of the year with specific health benefits and then they're gone. It is important to eat seasonally as eating the same foods all year round leads to food intolerances, indigestion, inflammation and immune related issues. So instead of following popular trends eating avocado toast and cauliflower rice everyday which are available year round, add variety by catching some different seasonal foods that suddenly appear at your local market.
🌿
Fiddleheads boost immunity, lower cholesterol, are rich in iron and good for your eyes. In Chinese medicine, these little ferns are considered pungent and decongests the liver. A perfect spring cleansing food which is why they are available now 😊
🌿
Caution: Do not eat fiddleheads raw like other vegetables! They must be fully cooked to be edible. Eating raw or undercooked fiddleheads can cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and headaches. To kill their natural toxins, fiddleheads can be steamed 10-12 minutes or boiled in generous amounts of water for 10-15 minutes and always discard the water. It is essential to cook fiddleheads prior to sautéing, frying or roasting. Enjoy!

Best after school snack for kids!! 🍜 Homemade bone broths and chinese herbal soups are the most nourishing foods to fill those hungry little tummies after a long active day at school. Even with the weather getting warmer, instead of reaching for those popsicles, hot soup replenishes those little bodies with electrolytes and actually cools their bodies down through sweating.
🌞
🌞
Making a big pot of bone broth soup on weekends in prep for the busy work week makes a huge difference in children's health and your stress levels in the long run. When children start drinking nutrient dense bone broths regularly at a young age, you are helping to strengthen their foundation. They will develop a stonger immune system and get sick less often, have a healthy gut and better digestion, have less allergies and hayfever, sleep better, perform better at school, and acquire tastebuds to favour real, unprocessed foods for life! A little prep and planning goes a long way.
