🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡
September 30th is a day to pause, reflect, and honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities.
But the work of truth and reconciliation doesn’t end today. True reconciliation means committing to ongoing learning, listening, and action. It means amplifying Indigenous voices, supporting Indigenous-led initiatives, and ensuring that the truths of our shared history are not forgotten.
As we move forward, let’s continue to:
✨ Learn about Indigenous histories and cultures.
✨ Acknowledge the harms caused by residential schools.
✨ Support healing and reconciliation in tangible ways.
✨ Hope — and hold our government accountable — to continue working through the 94 Calls to Action outlined by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
✨ Foster respect, understanding, and equity in our communities.
Reconciliation is not a one-day event. It is a lifelong journey we must walk together. 🧡
