We’re proud to see Derek LaCroix, KC, Executive Director of LAPBC, featured in this important article on recovery and culture change in the legal profession.

In the piece, Derek shares how many lawyers lose their sense of purpose under the pressures of practice—and how alcohol and drugs can become a way to “fill that hole until they don’t.” Drawing from his own recovery journey, he emphasizes the importance of breaking stigma, especially for women, and encourages senior lawyers and judges to speak openly about their experiences.
