Back at today for 2 — and feeling deeply grateful for the kindness of who make it possible for me to still “get” to be mom to my two incredible boys. ❤️

Every extra day I live is because of strangers who chose to give — through blood, organs 🫁, and / superheroes. 🙏🦸‍♂️

13.5 years ago I was given a terminalprognosis and told there were no more treatment options. But hope had other plans.

A perfect donor was found, and somehow I reached remission and received a bonemarrowtransplant that changed my blood type from O- to A+.

Life, science and God are truly miraculous. 🙏

After later facing graftvshost and bronchiolitisobliterans, I was given a second miracle — a doublelungtransplant. 🙏

Now I breathe with lungs from my donor, Joy, and carry marrow from my donor, Fabian Hoppe , who rose to help from half way around the world, in Germany — literally living with Joy and Hope inside me every day. 💫

Because of them, I’m the luckiest mom in the world.
With heartfeltgratitude for this incredible giftoftoday.

Do you believe in signs? I sure do!!!

It was a usual gloomy Vancouver day when I started my beach walk 🏃‍♀️this morning, buuut,,, soon after the sun ☀️ broke through and it's now gorgeous blue skies!

This was my sign that 2026 will be a great year ahead! I've had my fair share of challenges, and I bet you have too. I'm feeling something big is on its way! Do you feel it too???? Let's manifest this! 🙌 Always believe something beautiful is about to happen and take proactive action to make your dreams come true! 🌙✨

Happy, happy new year to you!!! "Getting" to celebrate the new year is a gift that not all are able to unwrap. What will you do to maximize this new year ahead? Count your blessings- you are alive today! Make it count!

With all of the ongoing political issues in the world, I give heartfelt thanks for our Canadian 🇨🇦medical system. 🙏❤️

My morning kicked off bright and early at VGH. I expected it to be empty with the holiday season, but it was yet another busy day at the inn.

Despite the staff having to work throughout the holidays, every single staff greeted me with the biggest of smiles, so much TLC and heartfelt words of encouragement.

This note is just a small expression of my sincere thanks to our amazing healthcare heroes who keep Canada's lifeline strong- throughout the holidays, and always!

Grateful, thankful and blessed to be alive!

Skin cancer 101 : here are the pics: •Before, •right before (thinking this would be a small scar!) and •after! 🤨This one was a mildly invasive squamous cell carcinoma.

I'm often asked what my skin cancers look like before resection. Sooo, I thought I'd share!

Like this one (third pic posted), they often appear rather nonchalant like- like nothing more than an area of dry skin or a rash. They often feel like sand paper.

I'm definitely at higher risk of 2ndary cancers after having whole body radiation and "salvage" chemo for AML years ago, but also because of my ongoing high dose immuno suppression regime to manage my stem cell 🩸 (bone marrow) and double lung 🫁 transplants.

I've also learned more recently that I carry a genetic mutation in the gene TP 53- which leads to higher rates of cancer, particularly affecting children and younger adults. I apparently have the "mosaic" version of LFS, or Li-Fraumeni Syndrome.

Regardless. I hope this post empowers you to catch any newly developing skin cancers you may have on a proactive, early basis. Imagine the scar if I had left this any longer! It's also been a rough week as my blood counts randomly dropped this week. It was the first time this happened since my AML diagnosis. But my hearty little marrow seems to be bouncing back!🙏🙏🙌🙏

Often times, my boys are the first ones who catch these skin cancers for me! One very lucky mom! 🙏

I also have a phenomenal team here at VGH that keeps me strong- here's to my amazing Moh's plastic surgeon, Dr. Bryce Cowan! 🙌🙌

We all "can't wait" for the next trip, promotion or big adventure....but when you can shift your mind to the present you truly see the light.

The one, the only: Dr. Gabor Maté. 🙌 My mentor, my friend, my inspiration and my hero - for his relentless efforts in awakening the world on the importance of his compassionate inquiry approach. 🙏❤️🙌

His book, The Myth of Normal, cowritten with his son, Daniel, is an incredible read and features my survival story.

Grateful, thankful and blessed to have him as such a powerful force in my heart and world. 🙌

Thank YOU to all those who keep Canada's 🇨🇦🍁lifeline strong!

I'm here again at VGH for 2 transfusions and find myself in awe of the kindness ❤️ , courage and generosity of the 🦸 superhero donors, wide and far, who take time out of their day to extend the gift of life to complete strangers, like me.

All 3 facets of giving (blood 🅰️🩸bone marrow /stem cells, + organ 🫁) have empowered my survival in the aftermath of an aggressive leukaemia prognosis (AML), at just 35 years young, a whopping 13 1/2 years ago. 🙌🙏

These gifts are acts of love and sacrifice. The path has not been easy, but with your support, I can breathe freely, stand strong and still "get" to be mom to my amazing boys.

Because of you, my world is bright and rich, and I live so much more alive, awake, aware and grateful than ever before. 🤗

To say “thank you” feels so small compared to what you have given me, but I say it with all my heart.

I will continue to honor you, my lifeline, in every step I take.

Well this magical day ☀️ made for quite the epic 14th "bonus" Thanksgiving celebration!!!!

Our annual turkey 🦃 day pumpkin patch adventure did not disappoint- snow capped mountains in the back drop🏔️, fall leaves 🍁, crisp mountain air, sunshine 🌞 all day long... and the gift of togetherness- so much beautifulness! ❤️❤️

We were one man down as my oldest son is now at uni in Ontario and he stayed back east with family for the long weekend. Sooo we intentionally brought his great energy with and felt as though we had him with us the whole time! The immense joy he's having in his first year is easing the ache of missing him.

Anyhow, grateful, thankful and blessed to "get" to have experienced this day!

Ski ⛷️season is coming! I can feel it in the air! Can't wait! Hope you too had a very special turkey day weekend with those who you love most in the world! What are you most grateful for? Intentionally Look out for the every day moments that take your breath away! Thank you for the memories
