staff appreciation BBQ 2025!

Better together indeed. This team of dedicated, fun, kind, and talented therapists are truly what make running a group practice worth it!

Every year since Providence started there has been growth and learning.

This past year was one Internationally committed to cultivating a deeper values aligned team culture, where emphasis on compassionate communication, generosity, curiosity, kindness and respect, have fostered deeper safety and trust within our team.

We are always learning and growing around how working in integrity to our team values plays out, yet we strongly believe that when a team culture is secure and strong, our clients feel it too!

Similarly to how it can feel walking into a home of a securely attached family, a clinic with a securely attached team holds an energy of containment, trust, openness and safety that promotes healing!

Healing thrives in securely connected community! And its each of these humans (and the others on our team who couldn’t make it) that make our team so special.

To another year around the sun! ☀️

I don’t know about you, but this quote really resonates—especially when I think about the pain of being misunderstood. 💭💔
It’s tough when someone is committed to misunderstanding us, right? It can leave us feeling helpless, unsafe in relationships, or alone in our experiences. In those moments, it can feel like there’s a lack of generosity and compassion for the choices we make. That question lingers: “If you truly understood me, how could you think that?”
We all stumble and have values that others may not understand. But instead of receiving curiosity and kindness, we often face judgment—and that stings. A big part of this comes from how people project their own experiences onto us, especially when dysregulated. Instead of pausing to self-reflect, we allow biases and past experiences to shape our reactions. We’ve all been guilty of this, right?
The challenge is that this leads to quick judgments rather than curiosity and compassion. And when this happens in relationships, shame can fester, causing disconnection and division.
But here’s the deal: we don’t need others to validate our feelings to trust who we are deep down. No one truly knows our hearts, and our energy is best spent with those who take the time to understand us—even if they don’t always agree with our choices.
Let’s focus on seeking accountability from those who truly know us—the ones who reality-check us when self-doubt creeps in and stand by us through the hard moments. When we prioritize these relationships, embrace our own worth, and build self-trust—letting go of fears about others’ opinions—we find freedom. Isn’t that what we all deserve?
💬 How do you cope when you feel misunderstood? Have you learned to let go of others’ negative opinions and lean into self-trust? We’re here to listen! 💖
