The Ramadan Workshop, offered through the Nobody's Perfect Parenting Program BC at Burnaby Public Library (Tommy Douglas), brought mothers and children together for a warm, culturally responsive family session.

Children enjoyed Ramadan crafts, lantern decorating, and Arabic and English story time. Mothers gathered for a supportive discussion on positive parenting, emotional connection, and nurturing family routines during this holy period.

All the women left with free parenting resources, a certificate and greater parenting confidence. Congratulations to the participants and thank you to Nobody’s Perfect Parenting Program!

Our Executive Director joined leaders from Shoreline Medical Society and Kílala Lelum Health Centre for the first session of The Future of Primary Care in BC webinar series.

Together, they spoke about why community-based, team-based, not-for-profit primary care matters, especially for improving access and health equity.

A key message from the conversation:
When care is designed with communities, supported by stable teams, and connected across the health system access becomes more reliable and care fits real lives.

Our Cultural Groups meet regularly and participate in various health education activities and skill-building sessions. Together, they strengthen social and cultural bonds and collectively support their wellbeing.

Recently, our Latin-American Tertulias group learned about understanding stress and anxiety with tools and techniques to support their mental health from our resident Clinical Counsellor. The questions were extensive and go to show how much these health initiatives translated into multiple languages are appreciated and needed!

With only 25 non-profit dental clinics in BC, community health centres play a vital role in keeping dental care accessible, and recognizing oral health as part of overall health.

Our Dental Manager and Executive Director recently attended the Not-For-Profit Clinic Conference hosted by BC Dental Association, where conversations focused on the Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP) and the future of publicly supported dental care.

As a community-based non-profit clinic, REACH Dental accepts patients covered under the CDCP and supports people with applications and renewals - because access shouldn’t stop at paperwork.

Our Vietnamese Women’s Group had a wonderful celebration at Britannia Community Services Centre in honor of Lunar New Year! REACH staff and many community members came together to share a meal and enjoy traditional music. A heartfelt thank you to our Cross-Cultural Health Promoter and the group for creating such a warm, welcoming atmosphere and for sharing the joy and spirit of this special cultural celebration💖

Today, British Columbia marks a Day of Mourning following this week's tragic events in Tumbler Ridge. Please join us in observing a moment of silence at 12:00 PM (PST).

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the families of those who lost their lives, the students and staff at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, the first responders, and the entire Tumbler Ridge community. We join them in mourning at this difficult time.

Our Arab Women’s Support Group took advantage of the winter sun for a crisp outdoor trip to Granville Island! They enjoyed everything from the Aquabus to the market and its activities. This was another enriching trip, possible thanks to the generous funding and partnership with BC Parks Foundation. Their commitment to community integration, outdoors, and cultural connection has benefited hundreds of our participants over the years. We are thrilled for their continued support and initiatives.
